haha superb!!! I will listen to this a few times so I can understand it more :D

What would happen if you attach the copper plate to the spinning magnet motors (like a parachute)?
@hugofarias9150 Жыл бұрын
1:20-definetly a eletrostatic torus-like efect, the internal eletrostatic flux in the torus-like system is ascensional, no doubt of this. The torus is the most fundamental funcional shape from the universe.

Hmm, interesting. I saw a demo of this. The board is set to be extremely expensive though. Any chance at a diy version?

+Jacob Anderson Sorry for not getting back you to sooner. There are some DIY versions, as seen in other videos, but you have to ask yourself, "how much force are those magnetic DIYs producing?" For a DIY to work, you need to be stronger than the downwards force, mass x gravity, (don't forget the included mass of you!) For magnets to produce that much force it takes a LOT of current. I don't have all the equations with me on hand, but the current is the reason why we don't have a bunch of DIY hoverboards. The motors required to generate that much current are probably more heavy than worth bothering with. Plus the battery to supply said motor. And if you look at the power consumption of the motor.... so many things to consider. That's why it's expensive. You don't see a lot of DIY cars because cars are just so much work to make. Same application here.

wait wouldnt it be much more efficient to use a halbach array instead of just alternating polarities?
@musicismylife6258 жыл бұрын
+Bauren Yes, but because this is an introductory lesson to people who don't know electromagnetics, I simplified it. I think I summed it all up by the sentence "Due to the special arrangement of the hoverboard, the net force is in the downwards direction". I didn't want to spend a long time talking about the different ways to augment magnetic fields, and this did have a time limit. Hopes this helps!

you study and teach electromagnetism?? i have an idea

I'm currently doing my master's in wireless and RF communications, so yes I do study electromagnetism.

+TRAVIS ISAACS Only if mishandled. They are generally very effective, which is why they are widely used.

so basically this board is pointless and expensive? Okay no thanks.
