Beniot composed an opera on the same subject. I uploaded its overture a few years back.

That wasn't an opera, but theatrical music to a play Emiel van Goethem. Both pieces were written to commemorate the tercentennial of the Pacification. Waelput was something of a Benoit fanboy; the final theme of this piece was directly ripped from Benoit's Oratorio De Schelde.

Dear Mr. Cabedal, it is with admiration that I see and listen to (and like) archive recordings that you post of Flemish composers. Do you have access to the BRT archive or where do you get those recordings? For example, I have been looking for years for the recording of a concert of 17/11/1973 by the BRT orchestra and Ghent choirs conducted by Fernand Terby in the Ghent opera. That concert was then broadcast several times on radio. I would especially like to hear the third work from that concert: 'Als 't bruine veld' by Jef TINEL performed by choirs and piano. Can you find it? An other example, a concert from October 1955 was recorded at the Ghent Conservatory that was entirely dedicated to Jef Tinel (choral and orchestral works conducted by Jef Dispa). I've been looking in vain for that recording for years too.... Thank you in advance for your response and best regards, Peter Leys

Hi, my older uploads mostly came from tapes (some dubbed multiple times) that had been circulating in collector circles for years. Mostly, these were radio recordings. More recent ones were things I got through contacts or dubbed myself. Regarding Tinel, I can't find the recording you refer to. I suppose you have been in touch with the Ghent Conservatory? You might also approach Gaëlle Deldime, Tinel's biographer (the bio is from around 2000, if memory serves.
