Henk just brings out the best of anyone who sings with him, his experience, confidence and calm demeanor put others at ease and lets them be free to do their thing. He's a master at that, and Emma, who already is a very good singer, could just "let go" and be in Henk's safe zone to give us an even better performance than we expected. To me, if the Phantom wasnt part of this evening, this would most likely be THE song of the evening for me. (now its a close second) Ty for the upload :D

Henk made the choice to sing this with Emma after a couple of songs she did on this show. He was so impressed with her voice because he didnt know her at all before. In the last episode they all do a duet. The singers can choose the song they want to do and with who. So unlike the other episodes where they perform songs from the 'spotlight' artist or that have special meaning to that person they can choose whatever they want. So it really is a surprise how it will sound. This was one massive surprise for sure. So good!

You do know it is a tv show, allmost everything nowadays is staged. Sorry to say this but Henk didn't choose Emma and the song right there on the couch in the last episode, they already chosen the duetsongs in advanced because they still had to practise with eachother, wich makes perfect sence. It would be very doubtfull that Emma could sing this song out of the blue and also in the Italian language. without practise. The duets were already set in advanced, all they had to do is to perform live.

@@komkwam i didnt say they choose this on the spot. Yes they choose with who earlier and they practise together. But it depends on how well the song is known for the time they need and on how good the performers are. But as i have understood they only practised a couple of times while they were there. It still is pretty impressive for this song because it isnt an easy one.

@Semper verum Watch the show again and listen to Henk when he made his choice for Emma. Maybe he didn't mean it that way but he gave the impression he made that choice right there on the couch. I don't jugde because all singers did a great job, solo and duets. All tv shows are staged in one way or another, so don't be naive.

What i tried to say was that while they were on ibiza for the show he heard her sing and decided he wanted to sing with her. And seeing as they were there for little over a week there is still not much time to practise. Anyway it doesnt take away any of the beauty of this performance

Emma’s a cover artist who sings in different languages. Her father’s a conductor, so music is obviously in her family. But she’s an amazing vocalist, whether she works from KZbin or a street corner or the stage. The fact that she can hold her own with a master like Henk is testament to her talent.

Lol at this being a new song for people. I was still a teenager when this was released in the '90s by Bocelli, must've heard it a million times on the radio, but that's probably because I'm European. Really liked this version.

Henk is an established opera/musical singer. He does not need YT or anything anymore. He will have an appearance with Nightwish, which is I believe still on the cards after COVID.

Henk choose the song He had a house in Toscane for 15 years. There he met Andrea Bocelli who was not famous at that time and played in a small cafe there. He picked out Emma because he thought she was for this song the best choice Purely for info to you and bye the way I love your comments

You know Americans are so misled and used to crappy singing shows that they immediately think it's a competition and there are judges sitting preparing to eliminate somebody. I'm a heavy metal guy since the '80s and I knew Andrea Bocelli's song since the '90s. Surprised by that. Henk performed with Floor in January in her shows in the Netherlands. He definitely made the jump out of his comfort zone and he is doing other things besides Opera. Emma is finishing her album debut.

This tv program is about the singers getting together, every episode there is one VIP singer (in this video it is rolf sanches) and the other singers sing songs in the genre of the VIP singer, that is why they sing in spanish which they normally wouldn't

The show Beste Zangers or in german is named Sing my song, a couple of famous lokal artist meet to share every show the songs of one of them this means one show with the songs from Floor Jansen where the other sing their hits, one show henk poort and so on.

Henk poort picked out the song the duet episode they all can pick out someone to sing a duet with and henk picked emma , emma picket rolf ( the dude with the open mout) floor picked henk ( ho else 😁😁) tim picked floor ( they sang shalow again ) rolf licked samantha and ruben picked tim and samantha picked tim this show is not a competion but a group of singer from al sorts of mucis genres ho are having a nice time together and singing song to one another the are filming it on the island ibiza on a resort and then the go home and wait till it is time for broadcasting and wait for the reactions it is a great program i love it

This is NOT a competition.....!! Singers from different backgrounds are invited to sing to each other. Whether it's songs they sung themselves or songs which have a special meaning to them.....(btw this is a Andrea Bocelli song, very well known , at least in the EU....)

I just want to say that the last word, "LEI", I think it's pronounced "Lay". I think that your husband was right. Cause at many points in the song, Henk is pronouncing it "LAY". I don't think Emma as a Dutch singer knows Italian , So she might be pronouncing it wrong. Henk, on the other hand is an opera singer, and they sing in many different languages.

It's so weird seeing react videos from all over the world of performances from a Dutch tv show. The Netherlands is just a tiny little country in Europe. And a lot of great Dutch singers are not famous across our borders. Or only in Indonesia. lol. For some reason Indonesia loves singers and bands from The Netherlands. Maybe they've been the only ones awake enough all this time... lol

Sorry, but you probably have absolutely no idea about the musical tension building! Either way, I think it's cracked up that you absolutely have to stop in the middle of a React video to talk about something. You can do that without stopping or at the end. But if you do that, then at the places that are suitable. With in the pre-chorus where it goes directly to the chorus? Sorry, no idea about music and the feelings that are conveyed with it but also give an opinion. And you can see for yourself whether someone in the audience is completely fascinated, so you don't need a comment. You should rather take an example from it and be amazed and calm.
