Henk Poort has been for decades one of the highest regarded Opera and Musical performers in the Netherlands. It is quite telling that in the early nineties when he played the lead in "the Phantom of the Opera" ,Andrew Lloyd Webber said in an interview with the BBC that he considered Henk Poort the finest of those performing the role. What's more, Henk has been the idol of Floor Jansen ever since she saw him in the role as a 14 y/o girl. Singing the Phantom with him was for her a dream come true. In these series of shows Henk sang songs like this one and the country song "Your Man" and did a very fine job of it, especially regarding that in his long and distinguished career he has never been involved with these kinds of popular genres. Let alone trying his hand on using distortion, which is absolutely unheard of and even frowned upon in his regular repertoire. They say you can't teach an old dog new tricks ...... I guess Henk Poort shows you certainly can ^_^

All of Floor's performances from this show were exemplary. My favorites were Vilja Lied and Shallow, though all of them are great. Also, Emma Heesters (the blond girl) and Henk Poort sing a wonderful duet called Vivo Per Lei. Thank you for this reaction. 😎👍

enjoyed that! the wide eyed fellow is rolf sanchez, floor sings QUE SE SIENTE in spanish to him- each week the person in the middle couch is the person of the week and all the other singers - sing either that persons song, or a song that means alot to them-

What I love about this is the fact that you can feel that he is a bit unsure about using the distortion, because it is unusual for him and at the beginning of using it not every note was "perfect". But that uncomfortable feeling goes so well with the song.

We all have our idiosyncratic tastes in music, but if you ask me, this live version is so much better than that heavily auto-tuned live version David Draiman sang on Conan in 2016. So much more emotion & just Henk's natural voice without any vocals processing. P.S. That was good, but it was completely the Disturbed arrangement 100%. David Draiman killed it way more than this one, Disturbed version is much better, even though this guy did a good job, Disturbed did an AMAZING job! kzbin.info/www/bejne/q2qnmGCdbNllopY - over 600 million views!!!
