WOW! There is a reason these athletes are in the finals!!!! Beautiful, powerful rowing by both. I look at their knees and see a significant difference. Kohler keeps her knees together through the stroke. Grant's knees separate at the catch. Does that difference in technique produce a significant difference over the course f the race? I raced bikes for a while and after healing from a knee injury was advised by my surgeon to keep my knees "in" while biking. What the surgeon meant was keep the knees bending froward, parallel to the course of the bike, rather than, as many racers do, letting the knees get outside the hips. I was amazed at the resulting increase in power I felt through the pedal stroke, so I have adopted that style in my rowing as well. Any ideas or thoughts, other than "WOW, what a tremendous race by both of these superb rowers"?
