@@dearinsomniadontletthebedb9237 after you do the 2 step process, put a leave-in conditioner on your hair and put into twists (or plaits) and cover with a silk scarf. I have been dyeing my greys with 2-step henna/indigo for a few years now. I have thinning hair and did not want to aggrivate the (genetic) reality by using chemicals. Mixing the two was challenging at first. Henna was making my scalp itch like crazy, and the indigo would not take well. I tried everything the videos instructed and finally settled on what works for me: henna - mix to a pudding consistency, with water, add a couple tablespoons of almond oil AND cream conditioner. Leave covered for 2 hrs. The color is vibrant and my scalp does not itch at all; indigo - mix to paste consistency with warm water and 3 drops of perfumed oil of your choice (helps with the strong smell of the indigo). Leave covered for 3-4 hrs.

😇 Hi Kadijah.. I am 57 with some graying hair and I would like to use the henna and indigo process for my hair.. I want to get the bluish/black color, how long should I let the henna stay in and how long should I let the indigo stay in to achieve that.. I really would like more midnight blue to black result, my hair is low porosity and drying because of menopause, my natural hair color aside from the gray is a little lighter than a coffee dark brown, the length of my hair is past my shoulders, to right below my shoulder blade. I know now to add the aloe Vera powder to the henna powder when preparing to help with dryness. I started also noticing that my hair is thinning with age/menopause also. I use to go to the Dominican salon but when menopause hit, I only go maybe 2 times a year. I believe the thinning maybe came from the super hot blue dryers that they use to straighten the hair, plus I really like my natural curls more than the straight hair. I only get it straighten when I have a special/formal event to go to or just to see how long it grew, my hair type is 3c.. need your expertise advise.

@HennaSooq8 ай бұрын
Hello! When using pure henna powder (body art quality), and herbs for hair, you can use stainless steel bowls. Traditionally, they have used iron bowls, as it has shown to bring our more dye release. We typically use a spatula to mix it. We don’t usually use plastic bowls because they are porous, and the herbs will stain the bowl. The commercial boxes of henna, and henna “colors” that contain other ingredients, herbs, additives, metallic salts, etc..would more so cause reactions with metal bowls, then 100% pure herbs would.

Suggestions for adding Amla powder to Henna and for adding Aloe powder to Indigo??
@HennaSooq2 жыл бұрын
If you are coloring your hair with henna, you can choose either amla or aloe for your mixture but you want to use a small amount because it can take away from the color. If you want to add these herbs for more of a hair mask mixture, you can add as much as you'd like.

Hello, Why does Henna have a tendency to give some people a headache. Thank you!
@HennaSooq3 жыл бұрын
It can be heavy on the head, so it's common that the weight can trigger a headache. Or, some people are just sensitive to scents and that can cause a headache too. Essential oils definitely help!

Can I add aloe vera gel instead of powder for moisture
@HennaSooq10 ай бұрын
Hello! Unfortunately not, as the Aloe Vera gel form doesn’t work well for coloring. The indigo is very fussy and ideally Aloe Vera powder helps it perform best. We hope this helps!

As someone who's applying henna since 13,lemon juice that too of this much amount is a big No No. Also,for indigo it's always like warm water. I prefer using fengureek +Amla powder into henna paste +water/curd soaked overnight. I don't do any other step.

Do you have a one step using indigo and henna? I have greys but don't like doing the two step. Time consuming... thanks
@HennaSooq3 жыл бұрын
If you have greys the two step process is going to be the way to go, otherwise they won't match the rest of the hair. Here is the video on greys: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iXW5Yoaer819fdk

@HennaSooq Жыл бұрын
Hello. To achieve that tone, we require a two-step process with henna and indigo. You can refer to this guide to help you along the way: hennasooq.com/blogs/frontpage/complete-guide-how-to-color-your-hair-with-henna-and-indigo/

hennasooq My mom was gonna try the same thing as the last one did.. just dying her grays with indigo only.. but she uses a daily henna touch up creme on her grays everyday.. something called Naturally Brite henna hair dye which has her roots looking permanently red. So if she goes ahead and just uses the indigo powder only on her roots will she be okay?

What is it with this acidic lemon or apple cider vinegar 🤔 I learned the hard way years ago and used lemon in my henna. Lordy! My scalp was on fire. H2o, aqua, water 💧 that's it! Don't make it complicated.

hennasooq If you use a daily henna dye as a touch up on your roots like Naturally Brite henna hair dye could that get on your face over time and dye the skin on your face red?. My moms been using that as a touch up on her roots and she swears its turning her normal yellowish tannish skin tone to a darker reddish orangey brown.
