I have several Hennessy Hammocks and love them! I actually put in my Exped Mega Mat Duo only partially inflated and it makes it so comfy and absolutely no heat loss through that. Since the mega mat duo is wider than most mats, it provides great coverage on the sides, better than the underquilt I ordered on Amazon.

I always have my Hennessy Expedition in my car (I camp in my car) but always install the Hammock first. Then I can relax and enjoy. Best purchase ever. You're right man, Les Stroud is one of my Good To Go in case of Apocalypse 🤣 Him and 4-5 other dudes... :) Nice video man.

I thought about getting this model. The orange is a great feature for safety and visibility, but for some reason I went with ths expedition 4 season zip, and my dad bought the safari xxl bottom entry, will update comment for anyone interested. My first experience with hennessy hammocks was the jungle zip, and i was in love and hooked from that moment my buddy let my try his. I think tents still have a time and a place but for me for hunting and spring, summer and fall use I'll be in my hammock from now on. Polmoly makes a hot tent cover I'm thinking of trying as well, I'd like to use mine in sub temperatures but I dont think my abilities are there yet, unless I had a fall back like the quick saftey of a fire and a running car. As for the survival kit as les Stroud has taught me from my following all his media and videos your survival kit should be something you make for your self that is always on your person in you multiple pockets. I have nothing against this hammock but the expedition had the same specs for a lesser price minus the saftey kit.

I'm deciding between these two right now, the only valuable difference to me is that the insulation pad is wider in this one than the Expedition. The survival kit is fine and surely handy, just not a big selling point for me personally. Like the coloring of the Expedition 4S better, so at the price I'm not certain yet. This is research!

Ive bought this last year and finally the weather was warm enough to try it out this weekend but it wasnt as successfuld as i hoped. Problably rookie mistakes :) What i did experience is knee pain. While your heels goes against the fabric i should have used something under my kneeps so my knees dont overbend but one pillow for the head and knees takes up some space. Perhaps that is same issue with others. I will try with a shirt or jacket. The other thing is, like there are this stretched fabric in the middle of the hammock because thats where the hammock is held by the leaches. This streched fabric goes against the side of the knees when sleeping asym . Anyone got a suggestion how to avoid this? And third thing is the ridge line is so tight that i it feels like it could break at any second. Does that matter or should it be replaced? The hammock hangs in 30 degrees in the leaches.

The Les Stroud version is a great hammock system for sure. But...what you have right now is also an awesome choice. Anything Hennessey Hammock that we have seen has been top-shelf.

Really great deal Tony! The only thing I would add is rain water drip lines on the main cord holding all the weight of the hammock. If I were planning for only one that hammock is a great option. I picked up two Hennessey Hammocks this fall in the Dealer Demo Sale and their descriptions were very accurate. First one just to have one was a Traditional Scout and there was no saying of any flaws. It is flawless except for not having the line clips to keep the tarp centered although I have been scavenging packs from yard sales and took care of that. Think it was $70 instead of the $100 new. Then the one I really wanted came up the Jungle Safari Zip XXL for $230 and true to description it is flawless and complete. A $300 Hammock. Already have a Canterbury double sided survival blanket and a complete Military Sleep System. Room for two in the XXL especially since we are small.

You need bigger ones like DD Hammocks XL Sleeve. I own (and use) both 4Season Explorer and Survivorman and one DD XL sleeve fits the hammock, foam pad and even a deflated self-inflated sleeping pad.

Survival Hack for the Hennessey Hammock. When you receive the Hammock.. Immediatley cut away the polyester line, and replace with thin line Spectra. Throw away the polyester line...I was hoping there was a survival kit....inside the survival kit.!
