It works a lot better when you wrap the rainfly around the hammock a little more neatly. The snake skin does not need more material and swallows the whole system with no effort.

Great update and demo. One thought on the skins...seems like just a tiny bit more material would make process easier. Thanks for postin' up!

I opted for the larger hex tarp, so I don't put the tarp in the snake skins. I managed it once but it was a fight. I now keep the tarp in a separate speed bag and tie it to the trees separately. I like it that a wet tarp isn't going to be stored in with my hammock, and I like to put up the tarp first if it's raining so I can be out of the rain while I'm doing most of the rest of the set up.

Snakeskin XXL, I can put my deluxe explorer hex tarp and some extra guy line mods all slides in no problem and still fits in the original deluxe bag with enough straps

I find taking a little more time folding the tarp around the hammock and itself (if that makes sense) and wrapping the guide ropes around the whole thing is a much tidier way of using the skins, they just slip on with ease, i've timed myself and can pack my hammock in around 2mins in this way

We have mentioned the issue of snake skin size to Hennessey but no joy. You could try the DD Hammock equivalent, DD Hammock Sheath, they are an excellent alternative.

@touchnova I have an explorer and expedition with the snake skins and noticed that over time the snake skins do tend to stretch out and make pulling them over your hammock a bit easier, but they are a bit of a pain when you first get them. When I 1st got mine I could barely fit the hammock alone after abouta month or so I can now fit both my hammock and stock fly in one snake skin with minimal effort. Hope this helps.

I would opt for the Expedition Asym or Scout.

@RVOps My experience with the snake skins is that they fit ok, just start at one end of the hammock and roll it up half way, don't just squeeze it into. Once it's rolled up, it is fairly easy to slide the snake skin over, then go to the other end, roll it up also, and slide the other snake skin over. They even overlap. Question: do you also have the super shelter 4 season insulation system for the expedition? Cheers

Can the tarp be removed? If its been pissing down all night I'd want to remove the tarp and store it separately. Id also prefer to set the tarp first. Great video by the way just subscribed to your channel.

Great Vid just wondering what is the weight rating on the big hammock. I am 6'4 and about 350. Would that be able to support me?

Many thanks. We will be posting a demo on the Hennessy Expedition Asym tomorrow. Did you spot the outakes at the end?

would it make a good idea to buy a deluxe when Im 8.5 tall and would like to keep expensive equipment like cameras and foto lens in the hammock while I'm asleep?

IMO, definitely run tarp on a separate ridge line. and pack it separately in a place that can be damp (without getting other gear wet). keep skins on hammock line to protect it. for rainy setup, get tarp up first, then hammock under and dry (reverse for breakdown). this has kept me dry on relentlessly rainy hikes. also with tarp separated, you can adjust spacing (height) according to weather. high for hot (even angled to pull a breeze down onto you). low and tight for cold, windy nights.

Got be honest i think you would be pushing the bounds in the Deluxe. The Hennessy Safari's limit is 350. Hope this helps.
