Exceptional!! These etudes are lovely and tuneful. IMO the best out here. But they are most of them fiendishly difficult Its so nice to hear them played properly. Bravo!

Fun to listen to - I should test if it’s just as fun to play.

Hi Scott, I was wondering if you could help me out. I am a 9th grader freshman and I want to improve on horn. I got braces on my bottom teeth a few days ago and need some exercises to help me get used to them. I made region last year and want to get my lips used to them. You probably know my dad, he sent me to your KZbin channel for region this year, and says you were one of his former students. If you could help my out I would be very grateful. PEACE!

Hey, I’m a little late to the party but I’m a sophomore horn and I’ve had braces for a while now. What I remember doing in 7th grade when I got them is just buzzing on my mouthpiece ALL THE TIME. I’m not completely sure if this helps or not, but I DO know that it didn’t take nearly as long to get used to them as people said it would. Buzz high notes. Buzz low notes. Definitely work on articulation on your mouthpiece, if I remember correctly that was the hardest thing for me. I know it’s been about a month but I hope you’re adjusting well! You’ll get used to them, don’t be discouraged!! Happy horn playing 🙂📯

does anybody have any tips for that lip trill? they've never made much sense to me
@FB_Dylan4 ай бұрын
They really just take a lot of practice. Try starting on a g but playing it 13, and play a measure of 8th the triplets, then 16th. It this is definitely a skill that doesn’t come overnight, so don’t get discouraged if it takes a while

@@FB_Dylan thank you so much! i will definitely try this out

If you know what pitch benders are, then pitch bend the c upwards until you meet the point where it meets the d, and use ONLY air to move the note up and down. This comes with tons of practice, so start off slow then gradually increase speed as it becomes more consistent

When you don’t know how to end an etude so you just vomit 16ths on the page
