That’s the rifle the younger scouts love! Easy to load and use, no recoil and they love the lever action. Once they hear that first PING they are hooked! It is fun to teach them then step back and watch them handle the rifle all by themselves. Teach em right!

I have this rifle. I love this rifle, I wasn't aware it was so capable! My son raved about it to his little sister! Why that's significant is he's now a total computer kid (young man) and my little Tom boy is girly now. He went on and on about how smooth it shoots and fun it was to run the action on it! I have three 22Mag Henry Rifles, one is a pump the other two are level actions. The pump had some problems before Henry fixed it (at no charge, BTW) and now the pump rifle has more than 600 rounds through it and has zero miss fires or any cycling issues. Plus, I use every type, make and load of the 22mag ammo, zero problems. The two level action rifles are the same, and what a hoot to shoot!! Way to go Henry Repeating Arms Rifle!!! Sorry, I know this is about 22LR ammo, but I just had to say this about these great Rifles and Company. ️

I've had one of those for a few years now and absolutely love it but never thought of running all those different kinds of ammunition through it ! We have 2 golden boys, 22 and a 22 mag. Both eat everything you feed them. Both shoot great and very accurate. I’ve shot lots of different stuff through them and no probs, including shot shells. Just like he’s demonstrating. 👍👍👍

I recently acquired a Winchester 22mag lever action from my wife’s uncle. It was locked up, apparently they don’t cycle 22lr 😂. I told him about it and he graciously still told me to keep it. Beautiful little lever gun

I always load my Henry 22 the same way as you, for safety reasons. Never have had a problem. Only rounds that jam up in it are CCI Velocitors, nothing else does.

Great video, just watching it now, but I've seen a few of your videos already. I have a Henry Big Boy .357, it's a great gun. I load it with the lever closed and hammer down, no issues, I believe that's what the manual says. I think I'm gonna have to get either the Henry Classic .22 Rifle or the carbine with the large loop lever. I have an AR7 Survival rifle, but I've had issues with failures to feed. Sent it back to Henry twice, waiting for it to be fixed and returned. I offered Henry a straight up trade, the Henry Classic .22 for the Survival Rifle, we'll see what happens.

@@buffalosoutdoors Yes Buffalo, good idea. It would show at least what they are capable of. They are bound to be pretty limited, but before all the laws changed in Britain, I had a little 9mm shotgun. The barrel was less than 24" long so it became difficult to keep, as it would have needed to be registered as a firearm rather than a shotgun. It was limited obviously, but the ammo was cheap, and it would kill rabbits out to about 10 yards or so which made it ideal for hunting railway embankments and the like.

If it has a tube magazine that you load from the muzzle end, I always have the action open, both my browning BL22 and my Winchester 94 22 are loaded the same way

The H001 is a great rifle BUT its missing something. Add a Ruger Wrangler to it and you have a perfic pair to hunt and plink with. Same ammo fits bough of them. Great vid ! I have the Henry and 2 black Wranglers , can"t beat them together.

Ian McKenzie according to the web one million have been sold two million if you count the variants, I’m not sure who most of us are but if I have my Henry is around people with 10/22s they want to use the Henry. I suppose all of my 22s could be considered novelties but they sure are fun to shoot.

Buddy of mine cleaned out his garage and gave me a few thousand rounds of 22’s. Some long, some short, some LR etc. I also have been wanting a lever action for a while. I think I found the perfect rifle. It looks great, has a great reputation, it’s very reliable, it’s priced great and it will shoot the hodgepodge of different 22 ammo I have. To top it off, my local gun store has a nice collection of 22 Henry’s. I think I am gonna go after the Golden Boy. It’s just meant to be. Now just gotta decide, do I want the 20” or the 16.25 compact? Decisions, decisions….

I’d like to get my hands on one but they’ve been out of my budget for a 22. I did pick up a Glenfield/Marlin model 20 that is an oddball. It will shoot shorts/longs/long rifles out of the 7rd magazine. It’s also old enough to have the good Marlin micro groove. I have a nice 1979 Marlin 60 to accompany it to. Got to love those utilitarian guns that will shoot anything you out in them

Great video brother! The .22 is judged and overlooked as “useless” *way*. to often by gun owners. My response to gun owners that are always nothin’ but recoil hungry is the same: “so you wouldn’t mind being shot with a .22 magnum then....seeing how it’s so useless and all. LOL The opinion changes real quick after that realization!! Almost every firearm, , and every caliber/gauge, have their uses, and often enough it’s specifically what the gun owner needed to begin with! I started my son 7 on a savage rascal 22lr, I reckon the single shot bolt is far less confusing and easier to teach new/young shooters. Plus it will fire whatever you chamber in it. Steve QLD

I absolutely love my Henry .22 , but for what ever reason it shoots shorts 6 to 8 inches low at 50 yards. My dad's pump Henry shoots them just fine and as accurate as longs.

Always enjoy your channel. I have to admit I kinda cringed when you were loading your Henry with the lever open. Only because I loaded my 44mag big boy that way one time and spent 30 minutes trying to unjam the mechanism. It was never a problem with the Winchester I had.

The Big Boys don't take kindly to loading with the lever open. I can't load my .327 Fed Mag this way either. But the ones I can...I do.

Surprised those 20grain Colibrí rounds actually had enough puff to overcome the longer barrel and get out. Looks like Aguila rates them at 420 fps muzzle. I'd load up a brick of Aguila Supermaximum 1700 fps and just let 'er buck. Or some of those 40gr Interceptors. Great thing about a lever .22 or revolver .22, they'll eat any crappy ammo without problems.

It won't be as accurate for shot as it would be in a smooth bore. That's why Henry came how with the new rifle that doesn't have rifling. It's designed for 22lr shot shells.

New rifle, 22 long rifle spine, 22 short had issues. Rod would not go down, would like up. Will not go down and lock. So couldn't shoot 22 shorts today. Yes, had the correct amount even less. Try different ones. I'm missing something mechanical
