Cool little firearm. Security guards in Venezuela carried a firearm in .410 that was bigger than a pistol but smaller than this Axe. Single shot, break action. They always had 5 rounds on the stock. 1st was rock salt, 2nd bird shot, 3rd 00 buck, 4th and 5th slugs.

I just got a golden boy 22 the other day just because I wanted to get into Henry but not break the bank. It’s the smoothest action ever I love it. Most of my collection is tactical or modern. So getting into the Henry’s and going back old school is a lot of fun. And I definitely have to have this 410! That’s the perfect truck gun or hiking/camping!

I’m always late to the comments, but I wanted one of these the minute I saw it. Saw one at the shop one day and jumped on it. Couldn’t get to shoot it for a month because I couldn’t find any ammo. took it out for the first time a couple weeks ago and… I had so much friggin fun with it! I was shooting some federal bird shot rounds at clays set up on a hill side. Didn’t try any slugs because I wasn’t sure about the choke holding up on it with slugs, but now that I’ve seen this video I want to put some other rounds through it. I had the same reaction you did! Love it.

@@spondal1 Hopefully, yes. A lever action B.L.R shotgun would be really cool too. You have a good point about the weird sizes in the gauges that may hold them back, so I imagine it could take a while before they figure something out.

I had a chance to buy one of these about 3 months ago I already own the longer version and the shop had a Henry 45-70 that’s what I was looking for when I went in there man that’s one of the hardest choices I have ever had to make I put the axe down a tear rolled down my cheek and I said the 45-70 please.

The only way to shoot a 410 these days is with handloads. I haven't seen 410 shotshells in a store in so long and the last time I did the price was triple the price of 12 gauge.

I reviewed one of these and loved it. I could one-hand clay pigeons with it! It did well for me with Winchester PDX 410 rounds, as well as Federal buckshot and some Winchester slugs, too. I agree, this would make a GREAT SBS... I really need to do that...

Got the 'X' version. It's a bit awkward so I put a laser/ light combo from crimson trace on it and shoot it very accurately from my hip. Lots of fun! Hmmm ... 12ga lever action from Henry... I'd buy it!👍

Followup with Personal Experiences: Henry Repeating Arms sells a three-shot Magazine Assembly to enable hunting in most states with the Henry Axe; they also sell an assortment of .410 Chokes. I had the opportunity to experiment with a Henry Axe, and found that the Extra-Full Turkey Choke gave exceptional patterns with #7-1/2 shot out to about 25yards, turning it into a truly compact Camping / Survival Gun. "Taurus Judge" .410 Defensive shells ( Hornady Triple Defense and Winchester PDX ) are probably clocking out of the Axe's 15"Bbl at well over 1,000fps. Very impressive!
