My first rifle was a 410 over and under over 50 years ago thanks for review. I have a new appreciation for the Henry 410
@Bayan19057 жыл бұрын
I have tested .410 buckshot before and it doesn't have the number of pellets of say a 12 gauge, but four 000 buckshot pellets at 7-10 yards is going to leave one heck of a mark, and the slugs will do some damage as well. So this is one of those guns that will work for small game and would make a good personal defense gun for someone who is recoil sensitive with shotguns.

Great video and a great gun. I have one question . I've always heard that you shouldn't shoot slugs in a full choke barrel , is that correct ? My son has a single shot 410 and wanted to shoot 45 long Colt in it. So I tried to fit a 45 bullet in the muzzle for comparison sake , it wouldn't go in. So I told him not to shoot them in it until I researched it more. I checked everywhere and all sources said NO. Since the muzzle reduces size to keep the shot pattern tight , shooting slugs or bullets is not advised because the barrel may explode. Sounds like great advice to me. Be warned.

Would really like to know how you think the long barrel version would perform when hunting turkeys? Will it shoot turkey loads, does it have the ability to change chokes, and lastly, what kind of effective range do you think you would have?

Thanks for your informative videos. Do you have an opinion about check rest for a shotgun? Some thing that won't change height too much, but takes the sting out a bit. How about GodA grip or Beretta Geltek? Something else, maybe? Ty

I'm seriously thinking about getting the Henry 410 for my wife for snakes on our 19 acres in FL. Trying to decide between the shorter one with sights or longer with bead? I thought if I bought the shorter one I would put a ghost ring on the receiver. I think this would be better than a single shot to allow for quick follow up shots. Also a good all around self defense and fun. Which one would you go with for the main goal of snakes? Thanks 👍

These lever action shotguns are super popular in Australia since we're not allowed pumps, but the law says these are fine as long as it's 5 or less capacity. Because fuck logic. Thanks for the video mate.
@kenhelmers26037 жыл бұрын
ok, had to watch a second time to make sure... you loaded with the lever open, put in six shells, inserted the tube, closed the action, then levered in a round... seems you could of loaded one prior to closing the action right after inserting the tube. Making for seven rounds total loading. Yes, that would mean the gun is hot and ready to fire before its shouldered - but if round count is a concern - seems one way to max it out. Just a thought. Thanks again Cameron - luv the channel!
@TWANGnBANG7 жыл бұрын
Six in the tube starts to bind the mag spring. Yes, you could do what you say, but I wouldn't want six rounds jamming against the mag spring for very long. Thanks for watching.

I always have to laugh when movies show someone creeping down the hall of an abandoned pump shotgun in their hands. When a bad guy pops up, the good gun has to rack the slide, "Kerchunk-Kerchunk" then fire. It makes me wonder why they would be walking in enemy territory with an empty chamber. Some scenes even show them loading their shotguns and racking a round, but when they spot a bad guy, racking it again.

I absolutely love this gun as I got a chance to get some trigger time behind one... but I just cant justify the cost of it. Too expensive for what it is. Dont get me wrong, I like Henry's and own quite a few. But I also like .410's and own quite a few and I dont really see this doing much that some other .410 shotgun options dont do and do for less. I wish they would have made it compatible with 3 inch shells as with .410 if you want the most out of the gun that's the way to do it. I'd love a side load like the Rossi .410 lever actions they put out a while back, but not a deal breaker. It's mostly just the cost factor... I dont see it doing anything that other .410's I own arent already doing that are cheaper do. But I'll be damned if I dont still want one.
