I always found the 'Free Man' ending to be unsettling. From the beginning showing Henry's imprisonment on the ship to the likely slow and painful deaths of the entire Toppat Clan. Plus, as there are other visible cells on the ship there may have been other prisoners that were also left to die. Am I overthinking this ending? Yes

This ending... same with the one that happens if Charles rescues you from The Wall, goes to show how the RHM's vindictive nature and overconfidence in his upgrades has gone to do more harm than good for the Toppat Clan. In this ending, he could've killed Henry immediately on several occasions and been done with it, but he didn't. He thought he could hold the one who took down the previous leader, the same one who escaped The Wall, a fool's errand. In the other ending with a RHM showdown that shows his nature being his downfall is the fact that he chooses to give Henry one shot, he leaves himself open to the Cheap Fighting Combo. Heck in other endings with Cyborg!RHM as an enemy, he gets wombo-comboed by Ellie and Henry or annihilated with a Y-Move, both downfalls from underestimating his opponents. Simply put: Easier to just hit them with a laser or high power weapon and be done with it. Especially if you knocked Henry out.

The Wall is also in an entirely different country, presumably Russia. Henry may not be a criminal in The Government's country (US most likely), but could have committed crimes in The Wall's country. Of course, that'd be only for the airship endings where he gets pardoned.

@@ArtianSetS Actually, Puffballs United confirmed that Fleeing the Complex took place in Canada. Maybe the reason why Henry got arrested was, he either tried to commit another crim and got caught, or maybe a different justice system where his pardon didn’t mean anything?

@@dummy3467 Canada and the US, while on good terms, are different countries with different jurisdictions. I always assumed it was in Russia, due to all of the Russian accents and the guards' use of what appear to be AK103 assault rifles. It does seem though like The Wall is its own entity entirely, much like the Center for Chaos Containment. The CCC have no regard for the Government in any of the times they appear together, suggesting that either chaos containment takes priority, or being a seprate organization. My best guess as to why Henry got locked up again is that he's basically an international expert criminal. Even after he got pardoned in wherever The Goverment controls, other countries may still have it out for him, like Canada.

The only truly scummy moment Henry does in this route is abandoning Ellie, and even then, it's implied he doesn't want to be associated with a criminal he doesn't know (law enforcers CAN be like that) AND she was probably in the Toppat Space Station at that point, considering Toppat Civil Warfare has her free herself from the Wall. Not to mention, when Ellie rode off with the motorbike, there's no indication she would've come back or not (she did, but it seemed like she didn't at first).

Looking back at this ending, there's a chance that the Toppats *dont* die of starvation in space or anything like that. The government would likely be monitoring the space station to try and see if they could bring it down, and when they realise it's out of power, they'll probably try to bring it back down to earth so that they can retrieve all the stolen goods. Of course, that depends on if they decide to wait for them to all die of starvation to make retrieving the rocket easy or if they just go for an arrest straight away.
