My goodness, the sweetness just oozes out of him. What a generous and kind, kind man. And of course a very good actor. I'm of the age where I saw Happy Days when it came out, it was appointment watching every week. And of course he was terrific in Barry with Bill Hader. I also remember him as Butchie in The Lords of Flatbush with Sylvester Stallone. But I did not know about his dyslexia and the challenges that he faced and was able to overcome to become the success that he is. Really enjoyed this one.

I never heard your pod prior to this interview. I just came upon it looking for something else. I really appreciated no one interrupting the guest. I also never knew any of the backstory on Mr. Winklers rise to fame. I am definitely going to read his book (it was not on my radar prior). I read around 45 books a year (give or take a few). I run at the gym and read for an hour nightly (or I would never read). I need to multitask. Thank you for all the great years of 'must see' Televison in my formative years.

Henry Winkler was just at the Iola show in WI, one of bigger Car Shows in WI in the backwoods of WI just this past weekend mid July. Anyways - yeah lots of german heritage here so found it interesting he has a similar background except his ancestors came much later - most here came to farm pre WW1, when Germany was having it's issues then economically and politically.

Yes he is genuinely nice. When I was a punk kid around 1990 I was running in a busy movie theater and ran right into him. He could have easily yelled at me but he didn’t, I can’t remember exactly what he said because I was around 10 years old but I know it was something nice. Later when my parents caught up to me they said you know who that was and I said no. They said Henry winkler and I said who? Then they said the fans! And I was like oh cool because when your 10 something like that is not but I have always admired him for that. And now I think it’s cool.

This has to be one of the few episodes in which they don’t roast each other mercilessly or Jason sounding like a complete moron with his eon-lengthy questions or Will jokingly attacking Sean’s homosexuality or Will’s Canadian background being poked at or just talking over the guest constantly

Henry Winkler watched my wife cry at the airport
@AwesomeFish125 ай бұрын
weird thing to say.....
@harmonicartist5 ай бұрын
@@AwesomeFish12 I didn’t know. Her Father had just passed away from a battle with cancer. We had flown to VA to be with him during hospice. I had to fly back for work to CA and he finally went the next day. She stayed a few more days and when it was time for her to fly back home there was a huge storm system that hit the Roanoke airport. They had to stop traffic and delay/defer flights for a tornado warning and storm debris on the runways that needed to be cleared. I called my wife and the poor critter finally broke down from the stress of everything. Little did I know that Henry Winkler was nearby watching her cry. She had no idea who he was and didn’t tell me until I picked her up at LAX the next day. I was so concerned about her that I didn’t notice people crowding to meet him. She casually mentioned that, “the cool guy with the jacket and danced in that show,” was there. Finally she produced a picture on her phone of the Fonz, and another with her family meeting him once. I was blown away. I guess he was very consoling to her in Virginia

Mr Winkler seems a sincere, sweet and humble guy. However, I didn't find his style of talking very relaxing to listen to, and it wasn't one of the funniest. Still cool though.
