Detailed description: 0:00 - Game Load 0:06 - Winhill Village (Laguna) The Disc 2 story begins with a scene with Laguna. He is talking to an adorable little girl, Ellone. We gain control of Laguna after the events (1:26). He is upstairs in an Vacant House. He comes with everything that Squall had junctioned, including the GFs Ifrit and Diablos. As usual, he comes with 3,000 gil of his own. He junctions Firaga to Elem-Atk and Blizzaga and Thundaga to Elem-Def. He equips the Str Bonus and Enc-None abilities. There is a hidden Curaga draw point at the northern wardrobe. After saving, Laguna goes downstairs (2:21). Oh, my. Check the northern wall. Laguna talks to Ellone on the ground floor (2:32). Some more dialogue takes place. Laguna follows Ellone outside (3:01). They emerge in the northern square of Winhill Village. Laguna can talk to some Galbadian soldiers, but keeping the village safe from monsters seems low on their list of priorities. Down the stairs in the southeast, there is a Dispel draw point. An event takes place as Laguna approaches the pub entrance in the west (5:04). Laguna follows Ellone into the Winhill Pub (5:18). An event with Ellone and a woman named Raine takes place. Two people get in trouble, lol. Then, a face familiar to Laguna appears. After checking around the Pub, Laguna talks to Kiros (7:04). Sounds like Centra did a real number on Laguna. Laguna is presented with several conversation options (8:22). He chooses each option in turn. Would the "faeries" be Squall and company? Laguna can learn more about Ward and Julia. Interesting about Julia... To conclude, Laguna chooses "(Let's talk later...)" (11:38). Some more dialogue wraps up the conversation. Kiros joins Laguna's squad. Kiros now has whatever magic Irvine had. However, the GFs have been oh so helpfully removed. Thanks, game. Kiros junctions Quezacotl for now. Laguna unjunctions Ifrit. Laguna junctions Carbuncle and Brothers instead. He equips Mug and HP+20%. He junctions Meltdown to Vitality. Kiros junctions Ifrit. He junctions Curaga to HP, Holy to Strength, Meltdown to Vitality, and Tornado to Magic. He junctions Firaga to Elem-Atk and Blizzaga and Thundaga to Elem-Def. He equips the commands GF, Draw, and Card and the abilities Str+40% and Str Bonus. Laguna junctions Curaga to HP instead of Full-life; he has more of Curaga, so this has a more beneficial effect for now. Laguna also equips the Auto-Haste ability. Laguna's squad leaves the Winhill Pub (15:26). Weak monsters appear in Winhill: Bite Bugs and Caterchipillars. Laguna's squad returns to the Vacant House to save upstairs. As Laguna's squad approaches the bridge south of the Winhill Pub, an event with Laguna and Kiros takes place (20:06). Laguna explains his job. Time to patrol the town and take out some beasties. The squad goes south across the bridge (21:39). They reach a north-south lane that goes by a farm and a house. There is an intersection near the house. The squad can chat with an elderly woman in the Residence on this screen. There is a Drain draw point at the intersection. Laguna draws some Drain spells. The squad takes the side road east (23:56). They reach a cliff. By the truck, there is a hidden Reflect draw point. Kiros draws some Reflect spells. At the break in the fence, the squad descends the slope to a lower level. Laguna's squad takes the lower path southwest (25:18). They reach Winhill Village's southern square. There is an empty Residence in the west. GF Quezacotl reaches Level 21. There is a Hotel in the east. No one seems to be there right now, though. An event takes place as Laguna and Kiros reach the village's southern exit (28:28). Now, they must backtrack to Raine at the Pub. Laguna's squad visits the Item Shop in the southwest of the village. These folks are none too fond of Laguna. Even so, Laguna can buy some stuff. He stocks up on Phoenix Downs and Antidotes for the main party. Laguna replaces his Auto-Haste ability with Enc-None. Then, Laguna's squad heads north. An event takes place if they try to take the northeastern path towards the cliff (30:45). The squad takes the main path north (31:07). They reach a road through fields. An event takes place as they traverse this road (31:14). Easy there, Laguna. The squad continues northeast (32:06). They reach the Residence at the intersection. An event takes place in front of the Residence (32:12). Afterwards, the squad gains control at the northern square (32:53). They save upstairs in the Vacant House in the northwest. Laguna's squad enters the Winhill Pub (34:20). They go up the western stairs (34:49). A cutscene takes place in the upstairs room. Sounds like Ellone has it all figured out! I'm glad someone in this game does. After regaining control, Laguna reports to Raine (36:49). He must now take a nap in his room in the Vacant House. Afterwards, Laguna's squad leaves the Pub. They enter the Vacant House (38:27). They save in the upstairs bedroom. Laguna examines the bed and chooses to rest (38:49). Another cutscene closes out this Laguna sequence. 39:38 - Galbadia D-District Prison Afterwards, we join Zell, Selphie, Quistis, and Rinoa in a far less pleasant place. We gain control of Zell in the cell after the event (40:50). Zell takes Squall/Laguna's junctions, Quistis takes Irvine/Kiros's, and Selphie takes Rinoa's. Rinoa's GFs were also not-so-conveniently removed. Selphie junctions Shiva and Siren. She junctions Holy to Strength, Tornado to Magic, Meltdown to Vitality, and Shell to Spirit. She junctions Firaga and Thundaga to Elem-Def. She junctions Slow to ST-Atk and Pain and Stop to ST-Def. She equips the commands Magic, Draw, and Item and the abilities Mag Bonus and Move-Find. Zell, Quistis, and Selphie exchange their Cure spells to Squall, Rinoa, and Irvine. Irvine exchanges his few Cura spells to Selphie. Zell chats with each of his cellmates once (43:49). Afterwards, he talks to Rinoa a second time (44:44). This triggers an event. Indeed, things are not looking up at all. We cut to Squall for an event (46:35). He is in amazingly good condition, considering what happened. But aside from that, things are not looking hot for him, either. This prison has an intriguing means of moving solitary cells. Then, we cut back to Zell and company's cell (47:42). An aptly named Mean Guy comes to visit and take one party member away. What will happen? We cut back to Squall (49:29). His visitor is even less pleasant. Squall is taken for interrogation. Seifer sure has a high opinion of himself. We return to Zell and company's cell (52:57). An odd being arrives. This time, when the Mean Guy arrives, Zell has a choice in how to react. He chooses, "I'll stop him!". We cut back to Squall in the torture room (54:31). It sounds like Garden is about to have a problem. Squall eventually receives a choice in how to respond. He chooses, "...Just let me die". The Warden needs some anger management classes. We return to Zell and company's cell (57:42). Zell can talk to his companions again. To continue, Zell talks to Quistis (58:04). An event takes place. Take that, Mean Guy. After the event, Zell gains control in the Floor 7 corridor (1:00:24). He must seek the others' weapons. Zell takes the western stairway down to the Floor 6 corridor (1:00:43). At the save point, he restores the party's HP with a Tent and saves. Next time, the party will try to escape from the prison. Thanks for watching!
