Before I reverted to Islam I was in a long term relationship with a girl who was also not a Muslim. I reverted in 2004. She would not revert (which was her right) but I made it clear that I could not be with her. She was still willing to marry me but to me it was not acceptable. I walked away from the relationship for the sake of Allah. Sisters for the sake of Allah, for the sake of your soul if you are in a relationship with a non Muslim man, if you are married to a man thinking of leaving Islam...leave this person. In his biography of narrators (Asma ur Rijal), Waliuddin Muhammad Abdullah Al-Khateeb al Amri Tabrizi, the famous author of Mishkath, writes that Hazrat Asma died in the year 73 Hijri at the age of 100, ten or twelve days after the martyrdom of her son, Abdullah Ibn Zubair. It is common knowledge that the Islamic calendar starts from the year of the Hijrah, or the Prophet’s migration from Mecca to Medina. Therefore, by deducting 73, the year of Hazrat Asma’s death, from 100, her age at the time of death, we can easily conclude that Hazrat Asma was 27 years old during Hijra. This, factually, puts the age of Hazrat Aisha at 17 years during the same period. As all biographers of the Prophet agree that the mariage between prophet Muhammad PBUH and his wife, Hazrat Aisha, was consummated in the year 2 Hijri, we can conclusively and unequivocally state that Hazrat Aisha was 19 years old at that time, and not 9 as alleged in the aforementioned speculations.

Here is the problem. People that are born into muslim families, automatically assume that they are muslim. This is a huge misconception for our Ummah. Being a Muslim is a way of life, practice, belief and performing required tasks (Salah, Quran, Sawm, Donation and so on). If you haven't practiced or are from a family that just considers themselves as muslims (because they believe Islam mean just being a good person), that person is NOT really a Muslim.

I swear am not angry on this man in any shape or form. Am so disappointed of a sister that’s thinks of her self and doesn’t put her religion first. If she didn’t leave him, she is among the losers and there is no one to blame. And if the children turn like their father pray for them to go back to the straight path but don’t be surprised, that is the path you chose. We humans do mistakes no problem. Nobody here is defending child marriages. In Islam, If you reach puberty and maturity, you're an adult. There were 9-year-old kings and 11-year-old warriors in history. Comparing a 6-year-old from 1400 years ago in a completely different culture with today's 6-year-olds is sickening. If both conditions, puberty and maturity, are met, then it's not considered a child. What's even more disturbing is that these arguments often come from those who believe that one of their prophets slept with his own daughters and that their God commanded believers to kill infants after they were attacked, basically committing genocide. So, many don't have the moral high ground to point fingers, especially based on assumptions. We believe Aisha was mature and that she was a woman. Y’all don’t even know the counting of ages in 1400s Arabia. Christians, Jews, Hindus, or liberals, you seriously don't have any moral ground to stand on and to point fingers at others, seriously… And I can assure you, if any guy wanted to marry a 9-year-old today, Muslims would be the first to protest because, again, you seriously can't compare Aisha, an Arab woman from 1400 years ago who even led armies, with a 9-year-old immature child today who probably hasn't even hit puberty.
