Learned I don't like a frame mounted fairing many years ago before the Tour Glide became a thing. Batwing fairing or no fairing. I'd want a Road King before I'd have a Road Glide.

Not to be critical but comparing an older SG to the new RG is not a fair comparison. Should have used 24s for both. I bought a 24 SG as I really like the batwing. That being said ride what you love and love what you ride.

I'm 6'3 and I've always rode dynas and choppers. Though i understood the performance difference between the fixed fairing of the road glide compared to the street glide, I've always loved the classic look of the batwing. What actually sold me though was how it looked and felt while i was riding. Being "on top of the bike" as you described the street glide is what i preferred. Felt like how riding a motorcycle had always felt to me. The unobstructed view when i peered over the windshield felt more "motorcycle like". I wasn't ingulfed by the view of the inside of the fairing and higher placed infotainment whereas the road glide felt and looked like a space age wave runner would. Didn't like looking at all the stuff (fairing and gps in my face). To each thier own which is why they make many.

I *absolutely* would choose a Road Glide. No question. I want a fixed fairing so badly. Course for me, the best bike I've ever ridden is still the Challenger. That's the dream bike for me right now!

I think for the most part it’s which you visually prefer more than anything between those two. I’ve heard from many the SG has a bit better wind deflection but like engine size I wouldn’t let that be a big factor. SG may feel a bit heavy in front due to the fairing being mounted like it is. Should make sure to ride a 24 SG also, not the best comparison with a 23 to a 24.

I can't stand a stiff clutch. Bike or car. Top heavy fairings aren't on my wish list, either. I like a cruiser with strap or clip on luggage, and a small memphis shade windscreen at most. I leave the stereo, computer, seat warmer and recliner at home. lol

Never rode any of those, so I can't judge. But doing test rides is pretty much the best you can do to pick one you'd prefer most. Especially if you are used to riding bikes.

Im 5'5" and fit on my 23 Road Glide comfortably. The Road Glide is the most gangster bike Harley makes, hands down. Indian makes a great bike, but I think Harley just makes a better motorcycle. The new 2024 styling on both Harley baggers is solid.

I rode the road glide and street glide back to back, and I ended up buying the street glide. What it really came down to was the dash layout, and hand position on the handle bars. Both handle very well for their size though!

Road Glide for sure, but I haven't ridden them, I've always ridden softails. Love my El Diablo Low Rider ST-my other bike is a 1997 Softail Custom (FXSTC). So I am positive between the two, I'd pick Road Glide. If I were to get a bagger, I wouldn't even consider a SG, it would be a toss up between the RG and the Road King Special. I don't have height issues being 5'8 with a 31" inseam, I have weight issues... I'm only 126 lbs (and lean af at ≈10% body fat, so what little weight I have is muscle, there just isn't much of it), that's not a lot of muscle to work with if I had to back up or something, I'd have to add a reverse gear like I'm an old man or something.

i have a 2017 FLHXS in hard candy and love it.I test drove both the SG and RG 2024 and I fell in love with the RG in blue burst. It's more comfortable than the lower bars on my FLHXS and the engine is amazing. I never liked the look of the RG, but this new fairing is great.

6:00 in.. "how do we get the turn signal to turn off". lol. I had the same question when I rode a street glide. I couldn't tell when it was on or off. Also.. my absolute biggest gripe with HDs is the turn signal on both sides. Why can't they just put it on the left side like every other bike on the planet? 🤣

Couple of things. I believe at this stage the road glide now outsells the street glide. Number two I’ve owned both at the same time I like the street glide more than the road glide because the road glide front end feels too light to me. But the best bagger will always be “The Road King”.

Going past semi trucks, those fairings are like sails. Crosswinds SUCK. Small windscreens are much better for handling...and they block bugs. lol

Only time you steer the bike by turning the bars is below 20mph. Above 20mph you’re leaning/counter steering so the fairing/headlight isn’t turning anyways. Some people say the fairing not turning messes with them at slow speeds. I kinda understand that but you shouldn’t really notice it during slow speed maneuvers because your head & eyes should be looking where you want to go. It never bothered me personally. I liked the road glide so much after test riding one that I converted my street glide (couldn’t afford the one I demoed lol) biggest difference I noticed on RG was the bars turned easier and bike felt lighter/more nimble with quicker maneuvers. My SG always felt heavy & sluggish Take both bikes on a good test ride back to back. Backroads & interstate.

I am a little bit confused. I don't know how the Road Glide could set lower than the street glide when they're the same bikes other than the fairing.🤔🤔 I know the street glide was the old model the Road Glide was a new model and I was under the impression that the new 24s had taller suspension so it should have made it even taller. As a long haired guy I struggle with the same thing. I use about 5-6 hairties because I can't manage to braid my own hair. Luckly where I ride its usually cool enough to ride with a jacket and I tuck my hair in the jacket with a buff or balacalava to keep it from getting pulled out and tangling, I feel you the struggle is real. 😄

Its HILARIOUS that you guys are saying there are all these differences in brakes, throttle, "feel" between the 2.....other than the fairing, literally EVERYTHING is the same except for the bars...which you change to your preference.....they are literally identical...you can make one feel identical to the other simply with the changing of the bars....everything else is in your head. I own both... :D. Everything, the frame, wheelbase, motor, brakes, weight, seat height, frame dimensions....all of it is identical except for the fairing and where the bars are attached....granted the placement of the bars makes a difference and the 60lbs of electronics being attached to the bars....so they "feel" sluggish...but its all in your head.
