7:22 hello Jeremy, California department of Justice officer here, federal law is it is illegal to ship any non-native turtle or tortoise via US postal service. If it is native to the area you can ship it but you have to ship it with specific licensing and specific tags. I looked up the native turtle and tortoise species to Florida. They only have four native species and I guarantee you nobody from Missouri is shipping them to her rescue. So if a tortoise/ turtle was being shipped to her, it was done illegally and they should have been reported.

Jeremy, I love your honesty about forgiveness. I have heard as a Christian you must forgive all the things done to you. However, I believe as you do and sometimes forgiveness is extremely hard to get to. Especially, when the crine is heinous. Thank you again for reminding all of us that we are human.

You can ship turtles and other reptiles. There are regulations depending on states also there are companies that specialize in shipping them (can order the boxes,heat packs,bags etc.)that have detailed instructions on how to do it safely.

I would guess Liarnette left the turtle in the package too long and it croaked from the heat. Odd I was raised on a farm. We had multiple wild turtles, as farm near a creek. I do not recall ever finding a dead turtle. One time we had one that was close to the size of a snow shovel that came up by the house. We loaded it onto a snow shovel, got it on dad’s tractor bucket loader and took it down to the creek, and dad gently unloaded it. We also took it a bunch of fruit. I also recall finding lots of turtles in our ditches, again, we captured and took to the creek for their safety, as county crew mowed along the ditches.

You cannot ship any kind of live animal in a cardboard box !!! Every shipping facility uses their own hard molded carrying cages. Airlines, trains etc. it’s too dangerous to ship in cardboard. It could be crushed, wet, and therefore collapse. You cannot ship without food and water, that would be cruel. What if it were a dangerous animal?? In fact, with my small piece of knowledge on the subject, I’m not so sure you can ship live animals by UPS. If I want a baby bird, I have to pay delivery in advance, buy a hard shell molded cage, provide someone (usually owner or breeder) on shipping end with all the legal papers, vet checks, shots etc……who have to take cage to airport, and stay with it until it’s time to leave. The owners then go home and phone me to be at airport by a certain time, with all the flight information. Not even a tiny bird weighing hardly anything can be shipped any other way, unless you hire a private courier. No way live turtles were shipped in a cardboard box. Period.

All shipping companies require by law, as well for their protection, the shipper is required to have their information as shipper. This includes all freight company's as well as UPS, FED EX PACKAGE AND FED EX GROUND. Only exception is US POSTAL SERVICE which ship baby chickens(live) to residents that have certification to receive them .DEBUNKED her claim of no shipper.!!!

You can ship turtles via certain companies and with very specific packing instructions. Companies that ship turtles include: UPS, FedEx, and Delta Cargo. USPS does not ship turtles. Always ship Express overnight and only on Monday or Tuesday. Never ship near a weekend so you don’t have to worry about an animal being stuck in a sort facility over the weekend if anything goes wrong.

Those saying “forgive and forget” for this false charge of harming a child, you have no clue how many innocents are sitting in prisons all over the country, with 50+ years charged, due to false charges. The courts rule on hearsay not on facts and proof! I applaud Jeremy, for fighting this false accusation! This is the easiest charge for a DA. The proof is on the accused. Turtles/Tortoises get shipped all the time for the pet trade. Usually overnight shipping, marked as LIVE ANIMAL. Usually they’re hatchlings, not adults.

I dated a commercial shipping warehouse worker for 5 years. I was told drop kicks as in football. Same with place kicks across multiple truck loading bays. Spikes off the conveyor belt line. This would be a short list of things that go on at some shipping company's. I'd expect it happens with all of them. How else do boxes show up at your house like someone played football with it. Because it was.

I breed reptiles. They can be shipped overnight via FedEx. If the turtle was upside down that's because it wasn't packed correctly. They animal should be held in a small tub or "sock" to limit their motions and then packed with a fuller to work as cushioning during shipping and handling. The inner container will also help prevent escaping should the shipping box becomes damaged. Unless the reptile species falls under the oversight of the "Lacy Act" (not a pun, it's a federal law) than it can be shipped overnight anywhere in the continental US.

You know what I find to be hilarious, when UPS deliveres a package they take a picture of it for proof of delivery. Even if after the fact, she puts air holes and live animal fragile this side up on the Box. There will be proof to the contrary, if indeed that is the case.
