To be honest, not at all. We look at first world countries like the USA but their healthcare system is pretty sh*t 💩 We may be “behind”, but our healthcare system is one of the best in the world. In this video, I break it down to you why our healthcare is pretty dope.

In my opinion,Malaysia also get some benefits that will be jealous by foreign country people. Firstly,our medication fee is very cheap.When you just got a little fewer,you may go to government hospital and it only pays you RM1.You may think that there is no any countries are even cheaper than Malaysia.Even though in Singapore we need to pay SGD 10 for their cheapest medication fee so we need to thanks for our government nice contribution. Besides,we can found that non-bumiputera is harder to enroll into public university.But when you study hard and successfully go into public university by UPU,the students only need to pay around RM8000 until RM10000 tuition fee to finish their bachelor degree in four years.It is super cheaper when you compare to other countries university tuition fee because our government has helped us to pay much higher tuition fee and fortunately reduce so much tuition fee stress from the poor family. As Malaysian,three main races and orang asli should not racist to each other and work together to contribute for our country so our country will become more developed in the future. Please don't always listen to the stupid guys said that Malaysia is the super worst country and you are required to migrate to other countries in order to survive during your life. Even though foreign country's moon is rounder than Malaysia,but you must keep in mind that you are Malaysian forever and this land is the most suitable place for you to live forever with your beloved friends and families. Malaysia Boleh! Proud to be Malaysian! I love Malaysia forever!

This is a bit off topic but honestly one of the things that will really bring this country forward is if we abolish race-based policies that benefit only one section of the country. And this is coming from a person who benefits from said policies. If I have children I want them to have equal competition with everyone else, NOT be given more privileges. We're Malaysian perioddd

My dad had a stroke recently and had pretty severe bleed in his brain. He got a brain surgery and stayed in the ICU for around a week, and after that moved to rehab. Now after a month later, when we checked the bill, it was RM 872. Mind blowing (get it haha) but thats not all. Since govt hospital policy is to not go above RM 500, it was capped at RM 500. But my dad is also warga emas, so the fees are halved. Which meant that, brain surgery, 1 week~ ICU stay and around 3 weeks stay of rehab ward is only RM 250. He is still recovering in the rehab ward so it might go higher but I dont know yet.
@s34n2
@s34n2 2 жыл бұрын
However, of course there are downsides. The hospital staff is usually stretched thin which meant that he got medical attention very slowly. From the time I found him on the floor at home (10 am) until he got his surgery (5 am next day), there is such a large gap that the severe bleed might have been a result of that. Also, when I called the ambulance, I had to wait 1 hour for it to arrive because the first ambulance had been rerouted for a more severe case and they only sent another one after I called 999 again after 45 mins. To be honest they should have dispatched another one immediately if the previous one was rerouted but who knows what circumstances might have led to them not doing so.

@@mikhailbotnovik1594 this will make sure there will be more doctors and nurses staying in Malaysia. A lot of these doctors after their degree in UK or NZ or Australia just stay there because the pay is better and they can easily pay off their student loan in a year. The cost then might actually be reduced because government don't need to keep sending students to study because people just keep fleeing.

Our systems are one of the best, no doubt. Only issue is the management. I never questioned the capability of the system, its just the management of the higher ups causing issues forcing some of the people that could stomach the pain, heading to privates. Also, due to the management (ahem tau la sape), most of governments are severely underpaid causing talents to lompat towards the privates for more opportunity. Its not that I'm not grateful of the system itself, its just the management that dissapoints me the most.

Isn't this a reason to be grateful as Malaysians? InsyaAllah, we pray that our medical officers' opportunities will be revised along with their expertise and all the risk n hard work they are providing. And I do feel we all should together promote healthy eating to lessen health risks among the citizens. Educate the people in different ways: activities and hands on are better compared to static campaigns. It is not so much of what we eat but to know how much we should eat is quite crucial. Everyone has different needs. I believe Malaysians are loving and caring people. We should stay respect one another. Do not listen to words of hatred sparked by nasty groups who have their own agenda. Aren't we adult enough to evaluate what we receive and use our clear conscience and faith to react to them... In the USA it is scary to visit a doctor or hospital without medical insurance. Even with insurance the bill can be quite high. It's common for people to be in debt for years due to medical bills, some even lose their home. I wish we had universal medical care. 🌺 Heidi

I have read a very sad story of a couple in US. The husband was diagnosed with terminal cancer. He was employed when he was diagnosed and he used his company's medical insurance. After using up all of his medical insurance, the wife have to use her savings to cover the husband's medical cost. The cancer was terminal and there wasn't seemed to be any hope of the husband ever recovering, but the wife pushed forward and was determined to cure her husband. When all of her savings was gone, she have to sell their house and moved to a smaller cheaper apartment,and used the money from the sales proceed to further cover the cost of her husband's medical care. When finally her husband still died from cancer, she was left penniless, jobless, all her savings wiped out and was about to become homeless because she couldn't afford her rent. She have spent more than a million US dollar in total to try to save her husband but still ended up losing him

A relative who resides in the US was diagnosed with cancer about three years ago and her treatment so far have cost more than rm500k, and she have only been getting treatment on and off for about two years. And if any of your family member worked with the government, you can arrange for the whole medical costs to be transferred to the family member who works with government and the government will deduct the cost monthly. My mom is a cancer patient since 2018 and had undergone several surgeries and procedures that cost upward of rm50k if done in private hospital, the government hospital only required half of the cost for the same treatment and surgeries.

Money is not the pushing factor, most of the young doctors nowdays are not keen to do medicine to start with, when they become Dr, then they realise the job is not as glamerous like on TV, money wise all jobs are not well paid in Mlysia, but we adjust our lives accordingly, but we hav so much other benefits. There are abt 5 to 7K Dr produced everyyear, compared to my time only 1K, so obviously, there r many who are not willing to do the job coz majority had no idea what a Dr's life is all abt b4 they join medicine

Used to live in the US. Before I go there I really thought Los Angeles (Where I stayed) is going to be far more advanced then KL. When I arrived I was shocked by the amount of homeless people in LA. U wont even see 5% of the amount of homeless in KL compared to LA. The government gives free money to homeless people and 90% of these homeless used it to buy drugs. I am not joking, this is for real. If we think our government is incompetent. Their government is 20x less competent. And that was LA pre pandemic (I left a few months prior to the pandemic). After the pandemic starts, triggered by the George Floyd incident (Which is bizzare to think people get all emotional over a careet criminal death), I heard it is a lot worse. People start looting all over the country, they burned cities. I have a friend living in Minneapolis. I have been there before, it was a nice city. But ever since George Floyd incident the city is completely ruined says my friend. My friends living in LA also says that lately crime is going through the roof. Even Beverly Hills which used to be one of the safest place in America have seen several looting incidents. Its scary.

Canadian here; our health care is so awful it's been deemed a human rights violation by our high courts. We suffer under malpractice on the regular, we are stuck on waiting lists that leads to unnecessary deaths and amputations because we are waiting upwards of 4 months (if we're freakin' lucky.) We still get charged thousands for ambulances (pro tip: let them fix you up inside the ambulance and get out of the vehicle before it reaches the hospital parkinglot. They can't legally charge you if you do this.) and our hospitals get dirty quickly because they are old in most places. Go look at the hospital reviews in Ottawa where all the shots are called and you'll see how bad it is. My mother has been tortured, abused and neglected in every hospotal visit, nearly died on several occasions and when she gave birth to my sister, they nearly killed her because they almost overdosed her in vaccines. My mom had to argue with the doctor to check his clipboard to see if the shots had already been administered. When I was born, they took me away to the maternity ward and my mother found out they neglected my crying for hours and she had to tend to me instead. Nurses and doctors are memed to death here for beng rude, arrogant, smoking Karens who are nasty as hell to people and patients. Why is this, now? Communistic/socialistic approaches to overly taxing us doesn't solve the problems (that's what universal healthcare is btw). Not only that, but running hospitals on tax dollars ultimately always leads to underpayment of doctors. What do the doctors stop doing when they are underpaid? THEY STOP CARING.

If I am not mistaken, the price of healthcare in US spike also affected by insurance company. Insurance company will ask for a discount in hospital, and the way they did is jack up the price, and then show the original price as "discounted price". But the problem is, if you do not have insurance, you have to pay the jacked up price.

Yeah it is. If you got any job in major companies, hell no that you won’t have insurance. Even cleaner has insurance. So in the end you don’t pay that much.
