Her reaction is the BEST! Making a pass with my Sister in my 1971 chevy elcamino 383 at bandimere

My Sister Megan hops into the passenger seat of my 1971 elcamino on a long voyage to bandimere. It was her first time ever going down the track and gosh was it worth it! With bandimere closing I'm so happy she got to experience it and I hope she will get her 69 nova out there with me next week 😍😁 we both have kids so going on adventures on a schoolnight isn't easy, so there was only time for 1 pass. not my best pass ever but there was small progress made in my reaction time. I will take it! 😁😅✊️ thanks so much for hanging out! I think it's time to work on some racecars now 😍 thank you ‪@PFIBrent‬ for the cameras!

Now as you know a little NOS and you would consistently be in the 15’s… I wouldn’t go over a 50 maybe 100 shot without gapping your rings but a 100 shot should be fun. Just eat away at it one tenth of a second at a time 😉

Don't beat yourself up for not instantly running a 15. Reaction time keeps getting better! Besides, your learning with the most difficult setup there is in drag racing. 4 speed street car, no line lock, no slicks.... Consistently launching something on street tires is an artform. Practice is the only way.

Hi, don't worry you'll get there. The car seemed to bog down at the leave. To compensate for this try feeding the clutch out allowing the clutch to slip a bit. This will keep the revs high and eliminate the bog. You'll be basically making your own slipper clutch(something fast cars use) with your foot. Practice it on the street. It's difficult to tune the car to not bog on the line on lower hp carburetted engines, especially at that elevation. I've been driving manuals(stick) here in the UK since before Stonehenge was built 😁. Hope this helps.

That was cool. I'm curious if you've done any experimentation with a calibration kit on your Edelbrock carburetor? I've used them dozens of times on ones I've run and it makes a difference. It's mostly all trial and error, but just trying different metering rods and springs will sometimes give you that little bump of power or smoother launch. Jets can help as well, but just starting with rods/springs is worth it.
