As a divorced woman working in ministry, I can share, for myself and soooo many others we minster to, the reasons folks initially say they're getting divorced is very very different than the story they share after time, hindsight, prayer and self awareness. It's very interesting.

Ebony seems to love to laugh, and I'm HERE for it! Her chuckle & quiet squeal is infectious😊 As for Elisha's journey, bless and thank you for your transparency. Funny (NOT!) how our subconscious Self talk sabotages us...🤔

Get curious! I love it❣️ what a great way to verbalize what we need to do! And another line “it’s easy to vilify others”! Thanks for being so open!

So far, Michael Jr. and Lecrea are among one of the best marriage example, especially in the black community, I've seen so far. I prefer reading people's gestures /body movements, listen to their voice for fluctuations and lock into their eyes to see the contraction and expansion of their pupil when they talk. These techniques will indicate when a person is lying or telling the truth. I know there are problems within every marriage, however, when Michael Jr gave his wife the opportunity to lead the show, Ebony decided to let her husband take the lead. This is a rare quality to find in the world these days in a woman as the traditional family has been under attack from feminists. In addition to that, it portrays the high level of trust she has towards you to lead the family. I have mad respect for you my brother. I pray I'll also have that type of marriage or more when my time comes to finally settle down. Michael Jr, would you make an episode of how to spot a quality wife and a quality husband? How can we move in the society and with whom should we associate ourselves with? There are so many false prophets on the internet giving out terrible advice, making men not want to marry. Nevertheless, with your show, we can encourage marriage among the youths. I think if we guide the men to a marriage like yours, we can have strong communities in the society.

Elisha said she “knew how to escape and she knew how to disassociate”. But she didn’t know how to “exist”. That was powerful!

This was a tough one. But good discoveries. I can’t help but feel like it’s better to discover these things before marriage but only some single Christians actually allow the Word of God to show them their reflection. I wonder why that is? I heard a similar refrain from the “How Married Are You” Podcast. It’s like singles don’t live intentionally, have accountability and then just into marriages headfirst hoping for the best but yet prepared the worst. It’s also like many christian singles get married out of necessity and not for their love for someone. Interestingly enough, that’s not Christ-like at all. And if someone had the Holy Spirit, would He not make one aware of their motives and weaknesses!? I have so many thoughts about this as a single person who is made aware of my weaknesses all the time by The Holy Spirit even when I don’t like it 😅. I don’t see this in many people, today. It’s like people are nose blind to their personal dysfunction and then use relationships to cover up their funk. I think Christian marriages will be better once Christians get better at being single. To me that means singles allowing the Holy Spirit to show them where they have weaknesses and doing the work to Love God above all else. I have so many thoughts on this topic. There just isn’t (to me) enough content centered around preparing-for adulthood, marriage, for parenthood. I would like to see some content around preparing to be the one that is ready to marry.

Michael, I love what you do - both your comedy and your godly actions, but dang bro, you married a gorgeous woman! What Elisha taught me was that a fatherless home creates trauma that is neither perceived nor understood but has life-altering consequences.

My marriage to my husband now ex husband has been over permanently for 9 years and we definitely won’t be reconciling ever! And I thank God every day for bringing me through the hardest extremely painful. And darkest times in my life nine years ago. And I also thank Jesus for loving. And Protecting me/providing for me. And I thank God every day for protecting/keeping my amazing Godly family safe from harm. And I know now that my marriage to my husband/now ex husband was a major major major major huge mistake that never ever should have happened in the first place. And I have learned some very very very difficult/painful lessons that I’m thankful to say that they are permanently behind me :)And I also thank God for my singleness. and maybe someday with Gods blessing. And His perfect timing I’m hoping/praying that God will put an amazing Godly man into my life who will always be on fire for Jesus:)@And I absolutely definitely want God to pick him for me :)@MichaeljrComedy

You can't really get away with practices and mindsets as a married person that you could as a single person. Marriage is the fire that will burn away all the pretense and illusions you have about yourself. Of course, I wouldn't really know. I'm not married.

She was paranoid after a series of traumatic events and rather than seeking the help of a therapist, she let it poison her marriage and her entire life. She really needed to go to therapy and deal with those issues. I wonder about her relationship with her father and mother. How did she come to the conclusion that she was unlovable? That is the root of it. Has she gone to therapy yet? There is no relationship she can have with anyone that will be successful until she deals with it. No one will do better than her ex husband did as long as she is holding on to that.

This is awful. A delusional woman marries and prepares herself for failure and abandonment from onset.
