I like it the way it is now, otherwise, you could do a "Hera realizes" series, where you feel you had a lot of things missed in a match, and watch the whole replay from the opponent's perspective, without the fog of war

This is a top 10 AOE2 game of all time. I still cant beleieve you came back from the position you were in. Moving vills out and forcing him to react was brilliant. I will remember this game for a long time. Well done man!!

@@HeraAgeofEmpires2Tatoh made only a mistake, that second castle not in your face... And that was it. Give a master a breathing window, they will exploit it. It was insane game.... About the fog of war, maybe you can be flexible, like showing some important details for a moment and then put it back. Great content man... Hats off.

I like the fog of war a lot. Being very new to the game (not to RTS in general), the sheer amount of information makes it really hard for me to discern which decisions were bad and which were good. Watching other players play is helpful, but it's hard to follow. Aoe2 needs more content like this

Incredible move to send those vills out to die to save the game and make an incredible come back, knowing you had an eco lead. Bro your game sense is just insane. Thanks for this recap/tutorial and keep on doing this series it's super instructive, keep your camera and voice as it is, and also the fog of war since we can fully understand your decisions with the vision you have in-game. You just proved your the n°1 aoe2 player in the world at the moment, given your winning streak in S-tiers tournaments, what a run. And on top of that you make so much content to help us, low elo legends, improve at this amazing game. Cheers and congrats bro

Glad you do this series! I'm a complete idiot when it comes to AOE2, but I enjoy seeing pros break down their thought processes. AOE2 is a casual game for me, yet the free knowledge you give out is truly a treasure to behold. And who'd be a better teacher than (at least this year) the best AOE2 player, and it's not even close^^ So thanks a lot!

this is so cool, to see this game again through your eyes; camera is good, backround is appaling; perhaps another colour at least; i enjoy the way you talk, weather it' s more boosted or more calm, your voice is interesting, familiar and crisp clear; fog of war - yes for me, this series is about your prospective on the game, and that fits that smugly

I have seen so many arena games where the all-in player could just wall in the opponent and they would never be able to escape. It can't be such a massive investment. Or just placing one or two outposts
@abhijeetantin6510
@abhijeetantin6510 9 ай бұрын
Walling would be tough cause Tatoh was already on a tight 1TC eco. Outposts wouldn't have mattered because Tatoh saw those vills anyway and couldn't stop it. In other games though, outposts could be a great idea

Actually it was good move for Tati to make house + gate near gold on the left side and 2 gates on the right side to prevent expanding.But for sure in the game it's hard to pay attention to all details.

Feedback on your 3 questions before I watch the entire video: 1) Camera seems fine there. Don't mind it, but also wouldn't really mind if you take it off. Doesn't matter to me either way. 2) Since I haven't watched this video yet I might still change my mind on this, but the softer more narration-style voice in the previous videos in this series are better for this series of videos. Since you're not trying to cast the match but analyze the player's inner thoughts it makes more sense that you narrate in a softer tone instead of "caster-voice" 3) Fog of war is a hard one. I'd say leave the fog of war on for the viewers to truly be entrenched in your perspective of the game. It will also then be good to occasionally (temporarily) switch to all visible just to check what the opponent is up to. An example that could come to mind is something like: "So as he was up a villager before/after me I was thinking to myself that he was going to focus heavily on booming instead of going for the relics" - and then just temporarily switch to all visible to show if your prediction was correct. Other than that, please do continue with these analysis videos. They are much more entertaining and informative that just pure gameplay videos

Definitely like having the fog of war, I want to understnad what you were thinking with the information you actually had. I love when you say things along the line of "I didn't know my opponent was doing this explicitly obviously, but I felt pretty confident they were because x, y, z." (e.g. ~ minute 7 where you're explaining how you narrow down what Tatoh's approach is going to be) That's what is giving me the best insight into how pros think. I also really liked your analysis of the matchup. Sounds like Tatoh was really cooking there!

On the chess analogy, this reminds me of Ding Liren vs Fabiano Caruana FIDE Candidates 2020 Round 3. Caruana prepared an all-in attack. Theoretically, Ding was in the better position but he had to play perfectly. Instead, he played a "bad" move that confused Caruana, and the Italian American's whole attack broke down.

In addition to the villager exodus, it is clear that skirmishers were crucial. They effectively countered the pikes and monks, while also enduring some castle fire with their pierce armor. And whenever the mangonel (or castle) got a few of them down, Hera had the economy to replenish with new ones. I am convinced that Hera did a great comeback, but less convinced about Tatoh after the initial push. It looked like he, in the heat of battle, underestimated both the villagers and the skirmishers. Maybe he did not expect villagers to take down Hussite wagons so fast? He could also have made some knights in the converted stable to counter the skirmishers and cannons, right?

Quick KZbin protip for you: even if you're only playing and recording in 1080p you should still render out and upload the videos in 4K. KZbin compression absolutely nukes the quality at 1080p and it's especially bad with the kind of footage aoe2 produces in the late game. Because of this a 1080p source rendered out and uploaded in 4K looks almost indistinguishable from a native 4K upload, while a native 1080p video uploaded in 1080p looks worse than an uncompressed native 720p source

Congrats! like the camera! This was an amazing game. Easy to say TaToH should have just focused on the main push and ignored all the other TCs, but if he actually did that, those vils could collect stone and drop forward castle, make a couple petards to break the wall, and then you got Coustiller raids all over the place. It was really nice to see the aggressive all-in succeed, but have the booming player still respond with counterplay by actually using the greater eco to do something rather than just die. Maybe TaToH should have taken a page from Liereyy and tried to wall Hera in. That might have worked!

What a comeback ! Great series. Perhaps a bit slower narration. Fog of war good. Camera is fine.
