General rule for low-mid elo players, don't scout with sheeps and don't lure deers until you can stay close to zero idle IC and scout always moving, don't try to play like a top player if you can't first play like a mid player, once you have the basics down start adding one thing at the time

@jakobo88 for some people, just interacting with a high level player who they like to watch is probably worth the money. I personally would never spend my money on coaching for a game that I play for fun, but I don't think it's fair for me to hate on people doing it. If it doesn't hurt their financial security, then who cares if this is how they want to spend their money? How is it any different from donating to a streamer? Kind just another way to show support to Hera or other high level gamers.

24:10 That is such an incredibly important part. To quote Vesemir: "How many times do I have to tell her? Don't train alone, it only embeds your errors." Especially in 1vs1 games where you can't have a look at your teammates (Not just talking about AOE or even gaming) and see what they are doing. Are they doing something different to what I am doing? Oh, they did much better than me, what did they do differently? Sadly many, many people do not ask these questions and instead blame the matchup, their teammates, the map, the guy called Steve selling vegetables at the market. Questioning yourself and going over your own gameplay is so important and the first step in the learning process PS: Blue played pretty damn well in the lategame, so obviously played the game before. How do they have such a flawed dark age? That would be the first thing I'd practice before playing online

A tip for all players out there. Playing AoE is like having a Basket ball team playing 2 matches together. Military team is kicking butts and getting a big advantage with the 3-pointers and the dunks but, you forgot to tell the Eco team to go play after the break and they are just sitting there while the enemy Eco is still scoring. Your military might get some points ahead but your Eco team is now very far behind. Sometimes it can get so far behind that you cannot ever recover and your opponent wins the match. Even though you are focused on the Military team right now, you should never forget to tell your Eco time to PLAY. Do not stop making more villagers. Do not let them sit on the bench scrolling TikTok. Put them on wood or ANYTHING because your opponent might be losing on one court but, never stopped playing on the other and is getting a HUGE lead for every idle moment you have.
@Nysyarc17 күн бұрын
I really don't think newer players should be trying the "fast" up with Mongols. As Hera points out, pushing the deer is distracting and causes idle time, and in the end he hits Feudal at 8-57 with 16 vils, no loom and no barracks. If you just stick to a simple 20 pop up with loom (Hera has a video on this, his "perfect dark age" video) you hit Feudal at 9-15 with 19 vils, loom and a stable going up with 2 vils immediately, without the need for a single deer. Trying to go for overly complicated early game builds is just a bad idea if you're struggling with the basics. Edit: To clarify, players can do whatever they want to for fun, but clearly this guy wants to improve his play. So I guess, newer players who want to improve shouldn't try crazy fast or complex builds, but obviously do whatever you want if you're just having fun.

22:30, it almost feels like he took the lead back by shredding opponents vills to half but then you look at the res stockpile lmao, still I think had he stopped raiding and throwing his army into his opponent and started stockpiling army back at his base and let their opponent come at them and repelled could've countered with a big push and won (or opponent would've got all his army up and crushed idk, opponent didn't seem the type to break forward tho)

Or alternatively: Set the gatherpoint in the general direction of the boar, then task your vil once your TC has another one in queue. After all, luring the boar takes your focus either way, so the gatherpoint doesn't stop you from forgetting about the vil

@johannesbirgirjensson16 күн бұрын
Very Hard is probably 800+ Elo. But AI plays differently from players, and you could meet one trick ponies whose trick will work against you. Just play and see, first 10 games will be harder since you face up 1k Elos at first, so expect several losses before you should be stable around 800 (+ or minus 100).

@@petervonfrosta244 Some misunderstanding there. You start with ranked, with 1000 Elo, you face stronger players, lose games, drop Elo and then face your proper Elo at around 7-800 I guess.

Another huge mistake blue made is that he consistently took poor engagements in which his opponent killed a lot more of his units than he did of red's. The K/D ratio at end of game was 2.4:1! If red had actually built enough production buildings, and created army instead of stockpiling resources, he would've snowballed blue quickly through vastly superior army numbers. Instead he didn't, so blue just kept building up a lopsided K:D ratio and wasting his resources until red finally built a big enough army that blue couldn't stop.

tbh this epitomomizes what i hate about rts games. if you're even slightly behind early on, you might as well give up, because there's nothing you can do in the later parts of the game to make up the distance. just practice the early game over, and over, and over, until you're absolutely perfect, before you even attempt to play competitive multiplayer.
@Ian409-y5h17 күн бұрын
I'd have to slightly disagree with your statement. A good example of having a slightly worse (or straight up worse) start than your opponent is precisely the reason I watch Hera. Hera has a tendency to fall behind more often than not but his ability to pull through through strategic thinking let's him take the W. To give my 2 cents about this match in particular, I believe the biggest mistake here was idling so many vills during feudal at the cost of just some damage with scouts. It clearly didn't pay off at the end since his opponent got the lead just by defending with a few spearmen and not stopping res collection and villager production

Nah, definitely not the case in lower ELOs where people make lots of errors. Blue could have turned it around for a long time there until very late in the game.
