What a great job Dan. What a😅 shame that this coaching icon wasn’t around to accept this award. RIP Herb.

The HOF in Toronto is awesome and if you love hockey like I do you have to go there and see it. It is very interactive and not a don't touch deal. Herb deserved this honour for sure.

I played against Dan when I played @ NDSU. In fact, one of my buddies (For the life of me I cannot recall his name) knew Dan really well.......to the point where the three of us hung out between games (Twas a bi-game weekend). The most memorable moment of the time was when we were at Burger King and my buddy says, when Dan was walking back to our table, "Dan LOVES Whoppers! Watch him make sweet, mouth love to this Whopper!"

In the 1980’s when he could have taken any job he took the job at St. Cloud State which was then a D3 hockey school for 21k a year. His goal was to help build the program to D1 status which they have today. He wanted more Minnesota kids to have the chance to play D1 and today they do with Five D1 programs in the state all of whom have made the Frozen Four at one point.
