I started my first herb garden last year and hope to expand it. 🌼🏵 I've struggled with growing chamomile, but I enjoy a cup when I can't sleep.

Hi Adrienne! Definitely keep trying your hand at growing chamomile - once you get it going, it'll be good to go year after year. Maybe try different varieties (German, Roman, Zloty Lan)? Growing and tending to an herb garden is so fun - like you I hope to expand as well. I find it to be a creative outlet at times! 🌿 ~Rochelle 🩷

@@SproutingPathsHomestead I've bought some Kelway Golden Chamomile, but haven't tried it yet. I bought a grown plant from a nursery and managed to kill it. Lol

Lemon balm can be invasive but I love the smell and adding it to tea.

Great video! BTW: it’s pronounced: Ah gahs tu kee 😊 A helpful tip is to go to the Missouri botanical garden plant finder site when you are trying to figure out how to pronounce a particular plant name, they have a spoken pronunciation on many plants. Go to the gardens and gardening tab, then your garden, then plant finder 👍🏼

I’m glad I found your channel I am from upstate New York 🗽 as well! So I am looking forward to seeing what we can grow here in our zone there’s not too much info from our area. Can you recommend what to grow and start in winter? / spring indoor Seeds when to start them? Which to start? Video Tips ect… thanks 🙏 I subscribed! Great green house love it! My husband is making me one out of old windows this spring!

Hi Deggie! So glad to connect with another fellow upstate NY'er! In regards to starting seeds for Spring/Summer planting here in Zone 5B, I typically start most peppers (sweet and hot) in mid-late February, tomatoes in mid-late March and any squash/pumpkin varieties around the end of April or beginning of May. I start many other flowers and plants as well and follow the instructions on the seed packet or google when that particular variety should be started. Typically the packet may say something like "Start indoors 4-6 weeks before last frost" and for our area the last frost for this year is estimated to be 5/3/2023. So I count backward 4-6 weeks and start those seeds indoors around 3/29 or 4/5. Here is a link to our "Garden" playlist of videos that may help answer some other questions. I hope this was helpful! ~Rochelle 💗🌿kzbin.info/aero/PLL-i8emlk6bwN2umpTUeOtH0Xw6bmzQzv

I love your greenhouse! Have you changed your seed organiation or garden planner this year? I watched your video showing what you use. I watched it many times. Such good info. Like to see more. Like when you plant. Winter sowing? I'm new to gardening. My husband built me a cattle panel greenhouse,. It"s so cute. It will be finished by March hopefully. I have a Mr Stacky. Going to start seeds next week in it. Wish me luck. Going to put it in a protected place with a grow light.

Hi Renee! Thank you so much! The greenhouse was defintely a labor of love as I am sure you and your husband understand ;) I'm so glad you asked about my seed organization and planning methods - I haven't changed either and in my next video I plan to show my "planner" for this year along with some seed varieties I am excited to try this year. This year I am also hoping to put out more videos showcasing planting and sowing in the garden (last year the animals stole the show - and our time lol.) In regards to winter sowing, I actually *just* started researching and learning about this method and find it intriguing! Have you ever tried? Enjoy your seed starting next week! I have to wait another few weeks before I get to start my onions ... I am so looking forward to it! Take care! ~Rochelle 🌿♥
