Great video! Basil/Tulsi is definitely on my top 10 list of favorite plants ever. As a kid I only knew about a handful of varieties. But I have spent a good chunk of my life learning about cultivars that are grown all over the world and have been adding many to my garden space. Breeder Jason Howard aka The Willy Wonka of Basil/Tulsi from basicallyaboutbasil has taught me a ton. Their farm has shared some of the most incredible hybrid basil plants with me that keep my yard sounding like a pollinator airport practically 24-7-365.

I learned about holy basil during 2020 when the store was sold out of cold medicine. A friend of mine from India gave me some and told me to make a tea out of holy basil and bee balm. The tea was quite effective and paired with honey and lemon juice...it was so very soothing. Thank you for sharing one of my favorite herb's!! One plant will yield more seed's than you will know what to do with. A great pollinator plant also. Have a wonderful day.

Kaylee, I wanted to share my experience with Holy Basil. First, I want to say that I feel honored and blessed when that sweet lady grows in my lil patch I call a garden. Several yrs ago I must have been given some Holy Tulsi Basil seeds (thru a FB seed exchange) and grew a plant. I picked the fresh leaves and made tea every morning. That yr I began having terrible hot flashes and horrendous nausea. But, I found that sipping on Tulsi tea controlled those symptoms, and later I realized I was going through the change/menopause. Were it not for Holy Basil it would have been so much worse. I did a lil research on the plant and I have loved it ever since. I also have come to notice it is very calming and relieves anxiety which I've been struggling with at late. I have 2 small plants this yr. I pray it becomes invasive on my property and I end up with it all over my place. Thnx for sharing. I enjoy learning about more medicinal herbs from you and your Mom. I was so enthralled when I saw the rows of Tulsi growing in Jessica Soward's garden on Roots and Refuge in her recent garden tour video. I just love her.
