I've never liked blues or jazz , I'm a rock and roll heavy metal dude , but shit when I heard Herbie play I said to my self more people should appreciate this type of music
@user-ty7ox9rp9c9 жыл бұрын
yeah man I feel you seriously like people should stop listening to the other crap and listen to music like this this music will save the music industry I just know it man

same as someone whos played metal for years. most of us metalheads arent as one dimensional as people try to peg us. rather the opposite. im just as happy with brutal death metal as impressionist composers like debussey. depends on my mood.
@WuLi4B7 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I know you're supposed to like jazz, Miles and the rest. I really never liked straight up jazz that much. But this is jazz fusion which is different and I do like it.
@GuitarGangsta5 жыл бұрын
at least with drumming vibe wise, there's crossover with the metal/funk drummers. Its about playing relentlessly and strong the whole time
@ethanmulvihill71773 жыл бұрын
@@WuLi4B You'd be surprised how similar this is to straight-up Jazz when it comes down to it.

Anything that you've listened in the last thirty years with a synth in it began with this man. For the younglings you might want to do your homework and pay the appropriate respects to a living legend.
@nathanbrown86479 жыл бұрын
younglings?
@manb4war9 жыл бұрын
+Nathan Brown yes younglings as in people who are too young to know who HH is.

+manb4war Really? Anything with a synth in the last 30 years? And what about Jean Michel Jarre, Vangelis, Tangerine Dream, Brian Eno, Klaus Schulze and Kraftwerk? Hell man, Vangelis was experimenting with synths long before Hancock ever thought of using them.
@manb4war9 жыл бұрын
Nico 76 No one is saying Herbie Hancock invented the synth or that he was the first to use one. What I AM saying is Herbie Hancock's music has greatly impacted and influenced modern day music and musicians. We're not simply talking about the synth, we're talking about the music he made with it.

the volume of the bass is offensively low
@Igaveyoumyfakename4 жыл бұрын
"Offensively low?" LMAO! Simmer down playboy. Either you're listening through a laptop (not recommended), your speakers are crap, or you are deaf. Because the bass is plenty loud in the mix. You should be listening through headphones. BTW, the song ain't about the bass. It's about Herbie on the keys.

Absolutely F---ing Amazing ! No music stands ..... This guy is my mentor riff and I am attempting recording a different version of the song. The only LIVING legends there are seem to be him.... he seems to be very much living to me! If people followed his example of free form there would be alot of jazz on this planet. Right now the most skilled musicians compete for hack status playing standards with orchestras.... you know who I am talking about. Herbie Hancock will never be hiding behind a music stand. Hallelujah! Amen!

The drummer and the rhythmsection are searching for eachothers feel...The drummer plays less round then for example the rest.. That doesn, t mean it,s bad.... It,s in a development state, as a band...Ofcourse all individuals are superb players!! My 2 cents...
