Just attended his 2024 November show at the Guangzhou Xinghai Concert Hall. It was an electronic and experimental feast! So different from this 1996 show. Then again, it was over 20 years ago! So many have changed. And I am glad I can enjoy both.

One of Herbie's best performances, love his solo on Holland´s tune "Dream of The Elders"

Ah yes, The New Standard tour! I really enjoyed this album because Herbie covered so many rock tunes (Lennon/McCartney, Prince, Peter Gabriel, Simon & Garfunkel, and Kurt Cobain)...but then they weren't really "covers" because Herbie definitely made them his own. This is also around the same time I had the pleasure of seeing him live because I had won a pair of tickets in a radio contest. Bonus points for this video NOT having commercials every few minutes (that are at least twice as loud as the music) like a lot of these do!

Thx NSJ: great gig. Now there’s probably still some Miles’ & Wayne’s stuff somewhere in the back…. Pretty please with sugar on top, release that. Thx

The sound is amazing. I didn't know until later that the drummer was blind or partially. Is the bassist blind or partially as well? Herbie never disappoints with his musical fusion. Loving every bit of it.

Earthy and Daring....No effects just the real thing! CLASSIC!

Why do people freak out when effects show up? If you introduced an instrument with a diffrent sound would that suddenly break everything?
@waynefoote37812 ай бұрын
@Cephlapodninja It is what a musician can do to Mesmerize without sound effects that really impresses me after 45 years in the Business. Of course effects will & can always be utilized to maximize production. but "Freak Out?" ......... Really??????
@Cephlapodninja2 ай бұрын
@@waynefoote3781 well it is true being able to do a lot with few is the essence of good music using effects doesn't devalue or take away from that there still just 12 notes it just turns it into a diffrent element to make music from a diffrent less to do more from

@@Cephlapodninja Hey I love using effects ....They help immensely in music mixing and production. I just really value a great singer or musician that can perform and produce without them.

Live exceptionnel. @youtube : la façon dont les pubs s’enchaînent toutes les 3 min sur ce chef-d’œuvre est un pur scandale…
