There is no substitute for a dedicated winter tire but i prefer only having 1 set of tires and i tend to lean towards the falken wildpeak at3. Right now im testing out the cooper rugged treks

I laugh at those people who leave their big wide mud tires on in the winter.. thinking since they have these big lugs, they will be good in the winter. It is the complete opposite, those big tires float around like snowboards and are especially dangerous on slushy roads. Folks, get those big tires off your truck in the winter and get narrow winter tires, stud them for even better traction.

Well m/ts suck in the snow I was always stuck in the smallest dumbest conditions went to an a/t and man the difference is crazy. I would however enjoy the added benefits of a dedicated snow tire and not wrecking my wheels in winter. I run studded winters on my daily car maybe why not on the sled hauling truck?🤔

Really liked my Blizzaks, but wore them out, rather quickly too. But that is the nature of good winter tires, lot's of sipeing & soft compound for bite.

A true winter tire cannot be beat.There are many good brands.I'm running Cooper Snow Claw on my F150 and love them.Don't be fooled by the 3 peak mountain snowflake on alot all terrain tires,they are subjected to minimum testing and do not even compare to a true winter tire.I've tried it,once you driven with winter tires,you will never go back.

Depends on what all terrain tires you have tried. They are not all created equally to perform in snow. Some perform better than others based on rubber compound and tread design. I do agree there is no substitute for a dedicated winter tire as I used to run two sets of tires for a car but now that I have a truck i simply prefer not spending an extra $1000 on tires and paying someone twice a year to swap them out. That and during hunting season I can travel from paved roads to snow to mud all in 1 journey and snow tires are absolute trash in mud just like mud tires are absolute trash in snow. I prefer a tire that gives me a bit of both and I have confidence in them. Learning how to drive in snow is also a huge factor.

@KTMsoldier1988 I've grown up in the snow belt ,say what you want there is no substitute. To each their own.If that works for you then great.Ive tried several all terrain tires that were 3 peak mountain snowflake rated and none were as as good as a true winter tire

I had the previous Hercules Avalanche X-treme tires on my truck and they were honestly the worst winter tire by far that I ever had. Got rid of them before they were worn out and bought Bridgestone Blizzak LT’s. Night and day difference. I would advise anyone to never waste their money on those hockey puck hard junk Hercules tires. Total letdown.
