I have seen it argued that Phil's motives were selfish since he had dreams of getting glory by training a hero, but what convinced him to come to back help Hercules wasn't glory; it was that his student was going to die.

The art director really knew how to portray deflation. I don't know if that's in part an attribute of this smooth like pudding style, but you can see it on the worn out Hercules In the end it was that sluggish, clutch style that won this battle. He didnt have thunder in his guns for an amped right hook. He was Superman 2

This is actually one of the most meaningful scenes in the film Hercules knew that if he didn’t Face the cyclops people would die and get killed but instead he chose to face the cyclops

Not only that. It's that he had to realize that "going the distance" is more than being a hero when it's easy or when one has super strength or any other advantage to fall back on. He took down that cyclops when he had nothing but determination. Then Meg taught him a lesson in love, which helped him reach the next level when he returned the favor and dove into that hell to save her.

Best part of this scene was Hercules learned as a hero that superpowers alone aren't enough to defeat enemies. He learned that intelligence and outsmarting the enemy is just as good as superpowers like his godlike super strength.

Hades should be more careful with his deals. The deal was "SAFE FROM ANY HARM". That deal would have been broken instantly because Meg clearly suffered an emotional harm immediately after the deal was made.

Hades needed to be the one hurting her. Since the deal was about Hercules giving up his strength for one day for Meg's freedom from Hades' clutch. Since the quasititan Cyclops was the one responsible for Meg's injury, Hades was the one that broke the deal, even if indirectly.

@@djantouahmed7319 no he didn't but he did tell the cyclops to go to said location and destroy the place and the destruction caused by him caused the entire area to be unstable leading to the pillar to fall, for an example of something running on similar logic if a General of an army ordered a soldier to sabotage a buildings structural support so that it falls over, if the building falling severely injured a random person, could it not be said that the General caused the person to be hurt?
