It would be even better if right after, Hercules said something along the lines of "You may have fooled Diana's half-witted friends, but you cannot fool me... Hecate.". And then Diana's eyes light up and she smiles, which reveals that Hecate has been possessing her ever since Metropolis. Then, before she can be exposed, she turns around and calls to Superman, and Superman kills Hercules. Hence, Superman continues to be Hecate's living weapon. It would actually make so much more sense story-wise, given the fact that Wonder Woman was essentially an entirely different character in this series.

It happens gradually..they don't go straight to Defcon 1...they start at 5 and Supes keeps escalating and doing more and more extreme shit. Wrecking everyone who tries to stop him. You can count the main villains who pose a similar threat compared to evil superman on your fingers and half of them DO end up fighting gods and shit. Zod is the exeption because supes was there to stop him. Nobody was able to stop Clark. The gods got involved because at this point he's king of the world and everyone else has been Curb stomped

Themis is the Greek Goddess of Justice. Themiscyra is Themis Cyra -- "Lady of Justice" or "Throne of Justice" depending on how you parse it, so Paradise Island's given name is literally a dedication to Themis. By running a fascistic regime out of the Hall of Justice, they are literally blaspheming the Gods. They definitely have a stake in answering that, as well as in preserving the principle of justice in the world. Wonder Woman being a part of the Justice League was a symbolic link between the Greek Gods and the mortal world. Her actions perverting justice in the interest of her affection for Superman was perverting the very heart of the strongest connection they had to the world. That's like poisoning their drinking water, crapping in their garden, and painting a swastika on their house all at the same time.

IE, Ovid's version of Medusa's mith (the one with the rape and the punishment of the victim) is by far the most famous. In Greek mith Medusa was born a monster, and that's one case where we HAVE the original mith. Same for Narcissus, lured to a pool by Aphrodite and turned into a flower, in the Greek mith he committed suicide without any divine intervention. In many cases, Ovid's version is the only one existing (IE, for the death of Achilles, the mith of Artemis and Actaeon, Arachne...).

Just to clear up confusion on the context of this fight; the Injustice storyline is an alternate universe where most events played out similarly, except for a few specific moments in time (hense why this version of Diana is so.. backwards). This run basically serves as an origin story for evil superman, and why our main timeline heroes eventually had to get involved. Otherwise Hal being a yellow lantern on the same team as Sinestro; Diana helping Superman take over the world; Batman teaming up with Ares; Shazam being complicit in literally a handful of deaths (manslaughter at best);etc. would never actually happen in the main continuity. Basically, this is an alternate timelime and thats the point. Eventually everyone would have to confront what they COULD become if they were pushed hard enough. Take it in the same way that you would with Reb Son Superman, The Batman Who Laughs, ETC. Its really just a what if story. However, character flaws and inconsistent power levels aside, it is a very interesting and compelling story. Still one of my top 5 DC alternate timelines.

This version of Diana is basically an entirely different person. Don't worry, a lot of fans were just as confused when we read this the first time lol But the writer of Injustice himself (Tom Taylor) cleared this up in an interview back in 2013, saying that from the very START of this series, he INTENTIONALLY wrote Wonder Woman completely out of character because he couldn't imagine ANY reality where the Diana WE know would ever love and follow a tyrant like Injustice Superman. So she was basically written like that for the sake of the plot.

So I guess for the story to actually work, they had to basically turn her into a different character in order to assure Superman stays evil and Batman has as little help as possible. IMO, the deities in the different comics should never lose to superheroes. In DC, Heracles is the son of Zeus and the god of strength and should be, by divine right, the strongest of all, including Superman. In Marvel, Hercules is the son of Zeus and should be the strongest of them all, including the Hulk. Both should be able to call upon their divine power to beat any opponent, at least in the strength department.

Agreed, I've said for years Hulk beating or even going toe to toe with Hercules or Thor makes no sense, since he's a mortal whose power comes from a science project. And if these beings are "gods" why haven't they found and used this same power for the eons they've been alive. @@evet7278 yes, recently I saw it in google, (I think the story is related to flash), It's a sword actually, it is said that it came here by traveling through the multiverse (or maybe it's from other Dimension too). But the thing is, you don't need to be worthy to weild this one, instead you need to be unworthy, it says "And with it, the Fate of many world's resist on whoever is unworthy enough to weild it", but not much info is given about it.
