Personally I think that that should have been an hipothetical future shown to Ultron(of course not in this context) not Thanos. I mean an hipothetical reality where Thanos is shown what he could be if he chose good would be nice but it would be more universal level. Ultron is the one with the more personal connection to the avengers in their top enemies. So it would have been interesting to see him go through a reality where he chose to be an ally to them and be loved and respected even by his father just to throw it all away in the end cuz he refuses to let go of his rage

Thanos should have been given a real trial where he has to give up on something or face a mental trauma that he didn't even know about. Not this crap. Like, if you want your power. You may not seek balance anymore or forced to feel emotions that are humane when commiting atrocities. Then, he has to fight his heart/emotions in order to committ atrocities. Having him simply decide to continue committing atrocities and doing whatever he wants. Yeah, no brainer he is going to continue doing that. That whole 'dream' of being one of the greats. Thanos has no reason to care about a false reality in the slightest if it is false. Makes me wonder how the other titans/gods or whatever they are. Are stil stuck inside the quarry. No one should be stuck inside with trials that easy.

To those saying that the trial was stupid i think you are missing the point, the main characteristic about Thanos is his Will, the test seemed easy because it was Thanos that was put through it. The test seemeed to be to acknowledge your true self and that is ezpz for Thanos, if you think about it not alot of characters have made it clear that they have made peace about their true nature you can argue for it but by far Thanos has been ok with it since literal birth, didnt he butchered his own mother when he was a kid?, The only scenario i see him failing the test is if his put in a world where he succeeds but that would be no test since the scenerio aligns with his true self making it the test pointless but then the "test" isnt actually testing his " true self", examples of people that can pass the test might include something like Captain-America, Spiderman and even then they wouldnt "pass" with flying colors like Thanos did the only one i can think of that can pass maybe as easily as Thanos did might be Doom, if the trial is testing something like resolve or something about your identity or how you perceive your self in the grand-scheme of things Thanos has that in his pocket.
