I've spent the last month with the T7 and can confirm the upgrade is absolutely incredible, as well as the platters from 12inchskinz. I love the ability to go some melodic scratching in a way not available with my vinyl setup but with that vinyl feel. Nice choice on the Blue Radial!

If you don't have the innofader option you can fit shims in the left and right hand side of the fader slot to get it within 0.5mm, this has worked on every fader I've ever owned.

I was ready and primed to get the REV 5 but the T7 doe's have to be considered. Even with the fader upgrade you will still be saving just shy of £200 compared to the REV 5. REV 5 at the moment all i can think is a plus is the mic talkover which helps massively with my podcasts and the dual laptop connection. Thank you for the review and the choice dilemma. 🤔🙂

Get the Rev 5. This thing is 11 pnds it is extremely light weight and there’s hardly any backspin torque to this thing at all. My right fx lever had build quality issues so it’s going back. I will note the platters do feel nice and very responsive but not comparable to a direct-drive motor. I couldn’t trust it at a live gig but would be cool for home use. Honest opinion

Dope addition to what so far seems to be a dope DJ controller! By the way, the actual cost of the unit will be more than $700 after 2 very important additions to it, one is the Innofader kit mentioned here for $150 but the other very important addition is the software upgrade from the inferior Serato DJ Lite to the superior Serato DJ Pro for $250..... so that's $700 + $250 + $150 = $1100, the same exact price as the Pioneer DDJ-Rev5, which in my opinion will be it's main competition since they are both targeting hip-hop/scratch/turntablist DJs. I'm looking forward to upcoming videos of the Pioneer DDJ-Rev5 versus the Hercules Impulse T7, two very dope DJ controllers for $1100 after upgrades! :)

Rev 5 don’t have motorized platters though. Also today guitar center has %20 off which I used to buy it today.

@@djnes2k7 Yeah the Rev5 doesn't have motorized platters but it is a battle style controller with big jog wheels, a good quality scratch crossfader and the full version of Serato DJ Pro and it cost $1100, the same price of the Impulse T7 after upgrading the crossfader to a good quality scratch crossfader (innofader) and after upgrading to the full version of Serato DJ Pro, that's why I say these 2 dope DJ controllers are each other's best competition, plus they obviously can't compete against the Rane One and the Rev7 which cost a lot more with more pro features / more bells & whistles. I myself will most likely be getting the Hercules Impulse T7 (fully upgraded) or the Pioneer DDJ-Rev5 (stock), they both look like dope Serato controllers for $1100! 👍

You should have serato pro bought the second you start djing, that shouldn’t count towards the total cost. That’s a guarantee. Total cost for me was $875 all in with a warranty and innofaders. Also this is better than the rev7 so far after a few days of use.

I got the t7 for xmass as a gift. I'm loving it so far. I'm definitely upgrading the faders. But it's a very good unit. A+ to Hercules.

Keep in mind also, if you don't already have a Serato DJ Pro license you'll need that too ($249 US). Add it all together and you'd probably find a Rane One either second hand or on sale for not much more. I'd probably still go with the better built Rane One.

Serato dj pro is unlocked when using a rane one, but that's it. To use any other controller, you'd still need to buy a serato dj pro licence. I'd say you are better buying the hercules t7 and serato dj pro. That way you'll always have a serato licence no matter what controller you pick in the future.

The Rane One includes a Serato Pro license, and is totally compatible with DJay Pro AI and Virtual DJ. Second hand prices for the Rane One are almost the same as the T7’s nib price… it’s honestly a touch choice between the two. The only real rub is going to be when Rane releases a One v2 with proper battle mixer layout and stems integration

Probably not my cup of tea, but I love how the Innofader upgrade transparent version has the markings on the under side to reduce wear and tear. Alas I guess that is just for the first 100 buyers? Still seems neat, maybe similar designs will percolate elsewhere.

Just like the Rane One, Pioneer DDJ-Rev7, Rev1 and Rev5 the Hercules Impulse T7 is mainly targeting the Hip-Hop/scratch/Turntablist DJs and those type of DJs never really need more than 2 Channels, that's why all DJ mixers made for scratch DJs have always been 2-channel mixers, that's been the case since I got into DJing in 1995 and I'm pretty sure that dates back to the early 1990's and late 1980's... I'm no professional turntablist but I know I never needed more than 2 channels when cutting up doubles of classic hip-hop beats and classic old school breakbeats, so 4 channels would just be raising the cost of the unit and taking up room in the mixer section for scratch DJs who don't need 4-channels.

@@clarencedickenson47 I got word back from support. The Hercules version has more robust rails to take on heavier use. They didn’t mention anything about cutting performance, so I think I’m going to skip the Hercules version and buy the Innofader one since Mojaxx already put his approval on it.

They can’t. it’s a controller with no audio inputs so it can’t act as a standalone mixer like the Rane one.

Do you know if you have serato pro already will it work on the t7 or any other serato device? Like if I buy Serato Pro to use on my pioneer SB3, can I use it on the T7 if I get one?
