The way I laughed out LOUD when I saw “I Heard It Both Ways” come up. One of my favorite songs from that musical episode and was not expecting it to show up in a video about one of my top favorite tv shows. And it’s so accurate I’ll never stop finding this amusing because they both are parodying off the enemies (who have some pretty solid sexual tension) arguing with each other while dancing the tango. I love it.

all those songs are "I want" songs. The song in the musical where the character sings about their goals/dream/what they want in a hopeful tone. There was a mention of "let it go" from frozen in a different commentary and that's also a "I want" song

Nice video! I laughed so loudly when I saw the “Thinking Outloud” music video,. I’d never seen it before, and it’s SO obviously the same. Parody law protected them there, lol. The visual part of “ This Session is going to be Different” references Billie Holliday. She often had a big white flower in her hair when she performed.

The chance of it actually being inspired by this is very slim, but Strip Away My Conscience is both musically and thematically incredibly similar to the song Slecht, Ik Ben Slecht from the Dutch/Flemish musical Doornroosje (Sleeping Beauty), where the antagonist (basically Maleficent) sings about being evil. The original recorded performance is not on KZbin unfortunately but the album recording is. The intro is nearly identical!
