Hello, Jeff. Probably this is the moment to buy that Planet Ocean you dreamed on… or keep your watches and enjoy. The watches you saw, let’s be honest, are like toys vs MM300, or vs SLA055, for example. SLA039 looks like a big alien head, and 065 it’s like a character from a cartoon film, in my opinion. Personally, from last year I putted all my Seiko watches on sale, and bought an Omega SM300 blue dial for my birthday (which is on 28-th of October… like someone from this channel…😉). But I am a Seiko lover too, so… now I’m looking for a simple…SLA021!😀 Back to the future! P.S.: I like very much your videos, for years! I wish you all the best!

I just consolidated five watches into one. Felt amazing and gives me a permanent addition at a higher price point to my collection. I’m slowly whittling down the “dross”, the pieces I don’t wear often enough into true collection worthy pieces.

My friend got a SLA039 not that long ago and loves it. He has about an 8" wrist. Surprised you didn't look at that one sooner.

Good job on the 065. In my humble opinion, the SLA039 would suit you perfectly and is worth succumbing to insanity.

I had the 065 bought! But, the seller got cold feet. I had already got the 043 but I thought the 065 would suit me better! In the meantime I wore the 043 more and decided that I really liked it, and the 065 wasn't going to be an improvement. So, I kinda forgot about the 065! 😒

SLA039.. no ragrets! I joke, but the watch is stunning, and it will make you a believer. Yet, if you have any issues with SLA023 size...hmmm. Personally in love with my '39, and it wears fine (7 5/8in wrist). The '39 will not compete with your 23. It will dethrone it. MMs all the way, baby!

I am sorry to admit that, but this "should I buy the watch" dilemmas make the content a lot more interesting to me. I hope you buy the Seiko039 because I would love to see a new watch review in your style, but if I were you I would think twice if this is the watch that you really want to complete your collection.

You didn't want to suffer the watch flipping to watch regret principle like me 😂 I think we should target the new SJE/SLA Marinemasters, let's exercise the illusionary delusionary substitution fallacy. With the justification being bang per buck. The movements are similar in the sense they're both discontinued undecorated Grand Seiko movements. We now get Marinemaster on the dial. Specifically SJE 101, SLA 077/79s Try get them for $2k

Seiko does have great divers.. I've been eyeing the 237 similar to the sla variant.. my only concern is the weight and daily wearability

No, that's not too heavy. That's a keeper. Get it. My wrist is too big for it. Otherwise, I'd get one.

I have the SPB237 "Grey Birch" Willard. It's neither a big watch nor heavy. The 42mm width is misleading as the lug to lug is a very short 46mm. It wears really well and the colourway is perfection

065 is awful. Get it out of your mind. 039 is simply outstanding but it’s too similar to 023. Silly to have both. Clearly 023 for me if I had to choose……more wearable, a normal lug size, and a better blue than 039.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of Seiko classic blue dials. They look darker than black most of the time. You need to be out in the sun for the blue to reveal itself.

Don't buy the 039 it is a nice watch but it is thick and top heavy and there are no bracelet options for it. It may be comfortable enough at first but after a few days you will need to take it off.

I would beg to differ. Larger wrist size helps. Love mine. Bracelet not needed if your thing is "divers with rubber straps," like McMahon.

Have to disagree. I have a 7 inch wrist, and the watch doesn't bobble and is very comfortable. It lays completely flat on your wrist so the weight is evenly distributed. It's a one and done dive watch. It's a truly spectacular watch. I am nuts about mine.
