The Aqualand watches are true functional tool dive watches. I have a vintage ana-dig version that I use diving. Yes, I have a dive computer that I wear on my arm but these are still useful and cool to wear on the wrist to record dives.

Literally just bought one and am waiting delivery. It's the most I've been excited about a watch in a time. Ive been wearing an Otis TT1 as my main, but this may take over as boss watch. Desperately after a yema rallygraf as well. Very nice peice. Great review, looks great on the wrist.

I like that watch a lot. Almost pulled the trigger on it. 44 is the largest I wear and 46 was a bit too much. Water sensor, water pressure and depth detection is also a feature of this promaster.

There is also a Pepsi bezel version if I remember correctly, that comes on a rubber strap. I like that one as well, but I know you prefer bracelets more than straps and at the end of the day, I to prefer them more.

@@JeffreyMcMahon It's the bn2021, full stainless steel, I don't like the black PVD one. Buuuuut, it's a bigger watch than the one you have now and I'm not sure if you would go back to those sizes :). I have a 7 inch wrist (I think), I know it's kind of a lot of watch for me, but I love it.

Just bought the Black on Black w. Stainless Bracelet, a beaut, if you're in the UK Ernest Jones are having a sale, with 15% code it was £211 (minus 8% Quidco too) my heart may beat to the rhythm of 7S26 with Zakk Wylde playin' lead, but I bought the Red lit Analogue-Digital Land Promaster 6 months ago as a replacement for a 15yr+ old Tough Chrono and now this, a replacement for a Breil Midway Depthmeter, Seiko are in a rut for me.

A great tool diver alternative to the Tuna. I prefer the old school look of the Seiko. Citizen build quality with Seiko design would be perfection.

I have an old yellow Aqualand. It would look sufficiently hideous with a red bezel. I might go for it. I'm thinking of one of these, too. It did quite well going up against the comparable Seiko.

Excellent review, Jeffrey! I just heard about this Citizen and simply had to check it out. This Aqualand appears to be a tremendous value at $350. A sapphire crystal at that price point is entirely appropriate. I just may pull the trigger.

Nice addition to the stable. Was surprised that you liked the OEM bracelet as usually you opt for Strapcode's straight away after purchase. There has been a lot of bantering and watch talk lately about the direction Seiko is headed. If I were them I'd pay attention to the competition like Orient & Citizen and the Swiss. Nice timepiece for a great price-enjoy!

I have never heard anyone say in the hundreds/thousands of Citizen watch reviews that the battery indicator dial doesn’t work. Every Citizen watch I have owned has never had a problem with the power reserve (battery indicator) dial. Maybe the watches you have seen/used the battery was drained?

Chief Rugaroo l love the A1 45 -the bracelet and the rubber strap didn’t work for me. I got a blue rubber Panari strap which just makes the watch super comfortable.
