No i have not noticed that it is a issue. We have about 2-3 % of 1st lactation animals coming up with mastitis.

Is chicken litter shit? What benefit does it have. I thought it would spoil the feed

Chicken farmers feed high energy grains to promote maximum growth however chickens have a very simple stomach and are unable to fully utilise all of the nutrients and energy in the feed and allot is left in their manure. So it is a cheap source of feed as the cows are able to utilise what the chickens could not. You must first vaccinate the cattle for botulism before feeding litter.

I don’t care what you inoculate them with, and I’ve read this is a common practice here in the United States also. I don’t believe feeding shit to any animal is beneficial. Cheap Doesn’t make it right. There is a lot of corn left in my shit at the end of the day, would you like some?
