Looks like sleep is the last thing on this family’s minds tonight (it’s just after 2 am here in AZ and I can’t sleep either)it looks like everyone thoroughly enjoyed their sparring party,I loved seeing the tender moments between Lundi and Mr. Mischief this whole video had me smiling the entire way through;I so enjoy that we now get peeks into Ellie nightlife thanks to the cameras. @@marie.1111 I live in Nordic countries. Now it's day time. We have a summer, it is so hot. 30 degrees Celsius in my apartment. No "ventilation". We have such a short summer, and the long winter season. Thankfully we have solid warm houses, with with winter in mind. Pardon my outpouring. Lots of all the best to you 😊👋🌷🌷🦋.

It seems that the young Bulls took advange of this sleepless night to improve their fighting/sparring techniques with the most experienced Here Jabu with Lundi and even funnier Mambo came to watch if everything was under contrôle and Mama Bubi sparring with son Zindoga Bubi never wastes an opportunity to educate her son the beautiful young Bull Zindoga Jabu was so tired that he slept through after the exercise Busy night for the Camera 😂🤣

It’s a privilege to be privy to these amazing interactions. I wonder when and how, in the history of life of Earth, play behavior evolved - in so many species! - as a way to bond, blow off steam, and learn essential life skills. It’s so lighthearted, but there’s so much purpose at the heart of it. Every display of the herd’s relationships - with each other and with their carers - is a window into their personalities and inner life. These sparring sessions between mothers and offsprings truly foster stronger bonds between them. I love how the youngsters learn so much from their mothers and father figures, because the adults indulge them with similar activities. And I love how HERD chooses who stays with who in which part of the homestead. Every young ellie has both a mother and father figure who will nurture and guide them throughout their lifetime. It’s really cool to see a female spar and play, especially with the size gap between her and Jabu. Jabu does his best to play nice even despite that size gap, not wanting to hurt his friend. This has to be my favorite elephant trio in the herd so far, they’re always up to something! Also random question but when Jabu was an orphan, who was his surrogate mother? Khanyisa has Lundi, phabeni has setombe, but when Jabu was an orphan who was his?

I don't know how I missed this adorable video! Lundi and Jabu have a wonderful bond! I remember when Jabu chased away the HUGE herd of buffalo...it was Lundi who was behind him! same as when Lundi did the same two times...it was Jabu behind her! She allows Jabu to discipline Mambo...and I love their deep bond of trust! Bubi and Zindoga are so close! She clearly has the power to push him away...yet she teaches him the important steps to sparring when not with his mentor Somopane. Bubi is fearless and I suspect Zindoga will follow suit! Such beautiful moments on display here! Thank you for sharing these beautiful moments with us all! P.S. I wonder if all the elephants sleep on their right side? 😀
