This is absolute nonsense. This lagoon is literally metres away from our farm. •The hippos are not endangered. The community surrounding the lagoon is feeding water into the lagoon from neighboring boreholes and fed haystacks •The hippos are not stuck and can easy get in and out. They are simply bathing which is their nature. •the hippos are less dangerous than usual because of the interaction with humans due to the support we provide the hippos. •the Herero lady with the cows has nothing to do with hippos but is shown immediately after suggesting humans are at risk. •Wildlife is doing this without communication with the community that has been spearheading the preservation of these hippos or even the village Chief. •Rather than relocate these hippos in a very expensive exercise why not support them by adding additional boreholes and haystacks •Relocating them displaces them from their territory into other hippos territory and if you know hippos then you know that is what could potentially lead to loss of life •this relocation is also a threat to the eco tourism of Nxaraga

There are none. This is literally a walking distance from my farm. There has been one natural hippo death and no humans threatened. In fact because we humans are pumping water from our boreholes into the lagoon and feeding the hippos they have become more tame.

the world population of hippopotamus is 120,000 individuals. In 1949 it was estimated that there were over 700,000 hippos. Projections of populations over the next 2 decades conclude hippopotamus will be reduced to 15,000 individuals. The IUCN has classified them as Vulnerable to extinction as small isolated populations will be at a greater risk of genetic inbreeding, disease, poaching and agricultural encroachment.
