Herdy's Frontyard Ultra 2023

Gabe and Zac's Herdy's Frontyard Ultra 2023 Experience.
Based at Herdsman Lake, in Perth Western Australia this event is in the Backyard Ultra format where competitors need to complete 6.71km on the hour, every hour until there is one person left standing.

Great job Zac and Gabe. The backyard is a real beast. Cogratulations on pbs. It was interesting to see how far competitors had to walk to their supports after and before each lap. I have done the Clint Eastwood, where the farthest one has to go is less than 75m form the corral.

Thanks Ian!! It was a great event! Yeah the backyard is such a different beast to the traditional ultra. The lack of ability to have a break and recover if need be, like a traditional point to point ultra, makes it relentless! Yeah Birdies Backyard is similar to the Clint Eastwood then where the finish is only about 40m from the start line. Much better. Herdy's ends up being an extra 300m per lap as the lap itself is about 6.81km and then 200m between the finish and start- it adds bonus km's quickly!
