However, being the shrewd and savvy guy he is, I kind of doubt Doug would make that video, simply because he knows him talking about them would probably make them increase in value. I don't think he would willfully and intentionally try to make a car more expensive than it has to be, at least before he buys it.

I agree about the Viper. I own a 2008 Viper convertible (GTS Blue w/ Silver racing stripes) & a 2017 Viper ACR-E in a custom ordered Blue w/ white racing stripes & I can’t imagine ever selling either of them. They’re among the most insane & enjoyable cars I’ve ever driven, & are even more special now that manual transmissions & naturally aspirated V10 engines are basically almost dead forever. And that’s not even factoring in that values on all Vipers are skyrocketing, especially on the ACR’s! 🏎💨

He asked me all about my ownership experience with the car. And I told him it was great. I only sold it because I was moving into a bigger house and needed the cash. I also sent him the aftermarket AMG shifter knob that was an exact match to the smoked wood trim in that particular car. And had a steel AMG logo. I kept the shifter as a memento. But decided the new owner should have it. As when I bought the car someone helped me out with a missing radio knob that had gotten sucked into a car wash vacuum.

I've never been in a position to be a collector, but one I do miss is an 88 BMW 325i with 4 doors. I bought it in 2008 with over 200k miles on it and it needed work (shocks, fuel pump, turn signal switch to start). It had this horrible tint job that needed to be addressed immediately. The purpose for it at the time was to save wear and tear on the "nice" car and get something for under $2k to beat on driving it to work. I never restored the car, but put enough work into it to keep it on the road and in decent condition. I never expected much out of it, but kept it all the way until late 2016. It's a tiny car and not particularly fast, but I just loved driving it. It was simple enough to work on for the most part, not all that expensive to keep it going, and it just felt like one of those slow cars that's fun to drive fast. I loved the look and feel and miss that. I got rid of it for reasons of practicality. I'd gotten a new vehicle and it no longer made financial sense to keep this old one and keep fixing it or restore it. I'd love to have a clean example (manual, hardtop) now, but that would cost significantly more than $2,000.

I regret selling my silver '03 VW GTI VR6 (24v 2nd gen VR6 engine). Built like a German panzer tank, with no mechanical issues, and very reliable, practical, and fun to drive. 6-speed manual, and it felt both like a sports car and sedan rolled into one, and it put a smile on my face. Gorgeous leather interior, and fit and finish like an Audi. Red on blue lit tach that was very cool to behold at night. Interestingly enough, when I went to Greece last summer, I saw tons of 'Mark 4' VW's everywhere, like Golfs, GTI's, Jettas (Bora in EU). It was uncanny. Mark 4's everywhere, as if VW just sold only those cars to Greece. My guess is that they were one of the more reliable and better made VW's that last. JUST KIDDING! I still have my GTI VR6, and i'll NEVER sell it! This past October, it turned 20 years old (bought it in October 2002 brand new), with only 122K miles, and I keep it in 'like new' condition. I get lots of compliments and offers on it at the dealership and gas stations.

Strangers may sound the only car I regret having to sell was a 2002 Toyota echo it had well over 350,000 miles on it but by the time it got to that I lost a cylinder on the highway transmission was kind of grindy but I was able to limp home. Sadly at the time I really wasn't that confident in my mechanical skills to rebuild the engine but ended up taking out the transmission and rebuilding it later for another echo we had. I regret it because I was actually going to turn that thing into a Ute. And before people say that's crazy... There is a guy locally who literally did the same thing with a 90-something Geo Metro....:O

I started watching around the time of the Viper GTS. I think the first video Doug uploaded after I subbed was when he took it to Home Depot. Good times.

These past few days watching my crypto portfolio decline is very disheartening. Holding doesn't really profit much. Any ideas on how to earn better on the short run?

Short term trading is much preferable considering the current market fluctuations.

I’ve owned over 80 cars and my car history is not that different from Doug’s. I thought his review and reasons for wanting to keep or not keep we’re pretty spot on. I’m not a Land Rover fan and I would never buy one of the Nissan vans but his experiences are similar to mine. Great video!!

I had a 2015 CTS-V wagon in Opulent Blue Metallic paint with the titanium grey interion that I just LOVED that I wish I still had. It was tastefully modded with a fully rebuilt engine making a reliable 900hp on E85, some gorgeous cosmetic mods designed to look 100% OEM. Even the exhaust was 100% custom so that it was non-restrictive but factory quiet at idle and cruise, but a beast at WOT. Wish I had kept it for sure... My father had a Cadillac Allante that I wish I had bought from his widow, who offered it to me at a price - but I didn't grab it as I felt she was taking advantage of the situation. But in hindsight, whatever she was offering would have been a steal. It was a Ferrari style red paint with a cream interior and had the really nice Caddy V-8 that preceded the rather junky Northstar V-8. Two really nice cars that I wish I had had the foresight, money, and space to keep...
