There are a lot of people you would be surprised I was in my early to mid 20s when I earned enough money for a Ferrari f430 a Shelby GT 500 Camaro ZL1 the only difference is a lot of people don’t post about it on social media to draw attention to themselves

@ahjeezrick

@Rizzo 1. High paying trade job (and hell, those don’t pay THAT kinda money in your twenties. You gotta put in serious time for that) 2. Great luck finding a well paying job after college, and somehow still able to afford those cars with the mountain of debt they’ve accumulated. Or hey, maybe they worked hard and got a full ride to college. If so, more power to them. 3. The bank of mom and dad, or sadder, their inheritance. 4. Success with investments 5. Started a business at an early age and saw success. 6. This one is the most likely, they’re lying on the internet. If this person was a boomer, I’d believe it cause back then they had it all and took advantage of it, and are the primary reason the cars young people want are unattainable to them today. Judging by the cars they claim to have had before 30 though, I don’t think they are. You’re doing fine. Don’t get caught up in what other people say they’re doing, or how much money they claim to make.

I can't believe you've been around this long, growing up you definitely sparked an interest in a variety of cars for me and my brother. I remember the ridiculousness of your bumper to bumper warranty videos, I remember thinking how funny it was a guy like Doug was doing a "picking up girls in a ferarri" type video, you really hit me when you mentioned Salomondrin. Almost forgot all about those guys but you've been getting me to click on these videos since 2013 or however long ago it was at this point. We've loved your content over the years and just keep doing what you're doing. Some things change with regard to format over time but you, as an entertainer, an enthusiast, a videographer, as a person, have remained consistent and it's what's kept so many of us around for so long.

The first video I saw on this channel was with the 360, "Does a Ferrari 360 Attract Women". It took me another couple years to actually subscribe, but I remember that video specifically and how genuinely funny and awkward it was. I liked the Ferrari videos because Doug seems like a normal guy. Also...where do you store all the cars you own? I still argue the original Stinger for 50k msrp (which in reality you could easily buy new for low 40s) was the best new car for money. It was very sporty, practical and fairly luxurious with great tech all for sub 50k .. it way out punches it weight! Only reason why I sold my mine was due to the crazy market and I almost made 20k on a lease turn and it allowed me to jump to a 718s. But I loved that car

First of all: the most important thing you said was, that you like all cars. And that's always my feeling, watching your videos. You do not judge. Strange things are not annoying for you, but worth a story. You are not the "my car is better than yours" type, and that makes you a real enthusiast. Second: in the end of the 90s I worked for a VW/AUDI/PORSCHE Dealer and we sold an Audi S4 to a customer. The customer then told me, that this is his 25th car he bought in his life. I was 21 years old and already had my 4th car (license age in Germany is 18 (and my current car back then was a 97' Golf VR6 btw)) and that guy told me, he is 35 years old. So I thought, okay, thats conclusive. But then he told me: And I still got them all in my garage. Later I found out, he was the owner of a paint shop for HCV and lived in a penthouse with an elevator for his cars, so he could lift one to the top of the roof and have a look on it from his living room 😀

I'm a middle-class dude, so I can't afford a lot in terms of cars. The Kia Stinger looks, good and I've always thought it was a decent proposition for price/performance. I remember when Doug reviewed it he said, "The only downside is, that you'll have to defend to your friends because its a Kia." Idk if they're really gonna cancel the Stinger, but that's something I'd consider if I'm every in the market again.

I'm earning like 2k€ a month so i would consider myself middle class as well and bought a Kia Stinger for 28k€ Feb last year. It is very manageable with the costs. Never had any issues, bought it with 103.000km on it and put around 32.000km on it without any repairing. Love it everytime I drive. I'm from Germany so the alternative from luxury brand is very far out of my ballpark in terms of costs. Audi and BMW for example with similar specs go for 2-2.5x that cost easy. Also 7 years/ 150.000km warranty baby. Get one, it's an awesome car!

I'm 48 with over 50 cars and trucks owned. I was raised in a GM home (dad reitred form there) but have no loyalty to any (although I prefer MOPAR historically). I love weird and quirky cars, SAAB's being my favorite (I have owned 2 9.5's a 9-2x and one 9-3), The worst I owned was a 2014 Mitsubishi Mirage (but I still miss it's 50mpg), I had an Abarth 500 and Now a Mini Clubman ALL4 with the 3-cylinder turbo. Ithink if you're a true car afficienado, you're doing a diservice to yourself by being brand loyal. So much engineering goes into even the worst cars, and it's neat to drive and own them, so you can learn their quirks. I have always apprciated your channel, for this very fact. You give respect to Yugos, where it's due, because you appreciate the car and it's intended use. Cool collection and even better bragging rights.

My first car was a 2000 Ford Explorer XLT. Silver, AWD with the 302 Windsor, and cloth seats. Learned how to drive in the snow and ice in GA with that thing. I'd probably still have it but it had to be sold years ago. The first car I've ever bought was a '06 M5 with the SMG. Got it around 2013 I think and still have it. Love that damn thing.

I bought a ‘20 Kia Stinger because of your review a year and a half ago. Re-badged it with Al Bearmann’s Korean market “E” badge and had a hoot of a time with people walking up to ask what it was. Had so much fun with that car. Traded it for a profit at a Hyundai dealer this year after adding 35,000 miles to the clock for a new Ionic.

I hear you about the Stinger. I had one too for 2 years, I think it was the first car I REALLY REALLY LOVED (after 20 years of owning various cars). Last year I sold it to Carmax because they made an offer I couldnt refuse and bought its sibling, the G70, which is quite similar. But I still miss the Stinger 😞

Luv this video Doug, it's amazing how much you still follow on the cars/trucks that you sold after you drove them. You have a variety of brands but we know how much you luv your German Engineer cars. Volvo 850 Turbo for your 1st car is a great selection, it's a great sporty sedan and 222 hp back then it's a lot and I wish Volvo was following it up with that younger, hip approach but sadly they ditch that trending success. Luv the stories behind each vehicle that you owned, those memories are priceless. I didn't know there is a G-Wagon 2-dr cabriolet. Keep up your hardwork and success!

He also has plenty of other high performance and ultra luxury cars. Doug DeMuro has a few quirky cars, a practical car and one supercar. Basically a car for every need. I know which one I prefer. I consider Shmees videos a guilty pleasure in abundance.

I wonder what your thoughts are for people trying to break into the car world on a budget - as you said, back when you had them, you could get M3s, an E55 AMG, a 500E, etc etc for aroundabouts $10k. These days, it seems like an old miata or select hot hatches are your only real options for a fun car on a budget.

My first car is a 1995 Audi A6 with the 2.6 liter V6. What Doug said about his A4 is true, the 1.8t is fun but the V6 (either the 2.6 or the 2.8) are the smooth ones you want for highway driving. I don’t yet have a license since I’m still in driving school till December but I’ve driven my Audi a bit and I have to say it’s super smooth. It has a automatic transmission that shifts nicely (not a transmission that has any problems, still had the old shifter). It’s a 1 owner car (driven by an old lady and after she died by her husband) that has a stamped service book since new. Cost me just 3 grand. My plan is to fix the minor rust issues it has and then keep the car forever. It will be considered a classic in 3 years so I’m gonna be taking it to meets as well. I’m also gonna keep all the documentation for the future. I’d absolutely love to do car reviews at some point but I’m always gonna have a little bias towards Vw group cars.
