I have applied mohs on a black car. It makes the color darker so if you miss a spot it will show it.

Great video. I just installed Mohs evo Syncro on my car - I think this product combo may be a better comparison to CSLexo. I found the Skin product thicker than Mohs, and reminded me of using Exo.

Somehow i think fast curing time would be an advantage to mobile detailers as it will give less time for dust to settle. I maybe wrong with this. But great video! For that vehicle how many total microfiber towels have you used? Is it the same number with other coatings?

Great video. Just ordered the Syncro EVO that has MOHS along with SKIN. Curious if you’ve have any experience with that combo, another video says skin takes away a bit of the slickness from MOHS but offers better hydrophobic behavior. Keep up the great work!

It’s interesting that I’m hearing from several people now that first layer of Mohs requires a lot more product. Can you share why that is? Or do you feel trying putting a thin coat is not sufficient? Also with such quick flash time, were you forced to avoid doing cross hatch patterns for first layer application?

Typically the cars get full paint correction before ceramic coating is applied. My full details typically range from 3-5 days

Great video like always! I just accepted a delivery of new Model Y that was polished and waxed by Tesla prior to delivery. Can I just wash it and use the Gyeon Q2 prep then apply Mohs Ceramic coating? Or you recommend additional steps?

I agree about the coating longevity. I actually prefer Optimum Gloss Coat for it's ease of use. If my clients can eek 1.5 - 3 years out of it, no worries. One of them has had theirs on since 2017! It's his baby - only goes out on nice days. But I've also had it fail before the two year point, and some go past it. Either way, after about two years it's not a bad idea to polish it off and start over. I also like the CarPro Cquartz line, but Gtechniq and Geyon have been interesting. As of today I'm probably more inclined to try the Gtechniq.

I have not, this was my first introduction to any Gyeon coatings. I’ve used Gtechniq Halo in the past with great results!

The Q2m Matte installs and feels just like the MOHS. I keep a bottle on my work cart for cars with matte wings and trim.

Which side on the Gyeon applocator should you use? Why are there even 2 sides that are different?!

It’s basically for what YOU like better as the user...There’s no right OR wrong side. Some individuals like to apply with suede & others like the microfiber. So it’s more of a “we give you options” type of deal. Me personally, I’ve used both, & I like the microfiber..but that’s just me.

It’s designed to be able to do outside. That’s one reason/benefit to the fast flash time. It cures so fast that it’s unlikely yo get contaminated. Video is way too long

I know an old video, but stop talking in years. Even Gyeon will give km equivalent which is more important. I drive as many miles a year as they consider 2 years, plus my car is outside 24/7. I would likely get a year from a 2 or 3 year coating. Also thanks for cutting the gyeon applicator open. Now ill start using mine before going to my third party versions from Autofiber. Also, i find it pretty silly that these companies make their professional only coatings really easy to apply but their consumer coatings are a little harder to apply. Its just plain stupid to believe the marketing from some of these companies.

Used gyeon mohs evo again on a soft dark colour car & it’s a horrible whilst leaving high spots & ghosting even after using 3 cloths . I will never use this trash again .plus in real world conditions I’ve seen it fail @ 9 months on my personal car & that’s with correct maintenance

Sounds like you need to work on install techniques. I have no issue installing it on any paint

@@OutofSpecDetailing install technique is spot on . On dark colours & soft paints it’s very easy to leave high spots with mohs evo . Gtechniq exo v5 or even better labocosmetica hpc 2.0 are so much nicer install . That instant flash mohs evo is absolutely awful & can leave ghosting so easy . I’ve over 10 years experience with ceramic coatings & this is one il not using again .

So I can take the car out after 24 hours and drive it behind an 18 wheeler during a storm. The semi throwing a massive cloud of who knows what behind it on flooded highway. Wake up the next morning to a car covered in horrific traffic film but have to wait 14 days to wash it?

You basically just don’t want to expose it to any chemicals, but if it’s already covered in some it’s probably better to go ahead and rinse and do a light wash with a ph neutral soap or a rinseless. Also if you need to drive the car soon after coating it you can top it with gyeon cure to be the sacrificial layer during the curing process so anything that gets on the car doesn’t reach the coating before it’s fully hardened.
