I picked up a 2014 Tesla 85 RWD in 2021 from a used car dealer with 54,003 miles with a clean carfax, the tech package, the auto suspension and a panoramic sunroof for $29,200. Had it shipped from near Chicago for $1,450 and after all the fees and California taxes the out the door grand total price was $32,250 and I love it. The new car retail price was over $92,000 so I only paid about a third of the new car price. Supposedly the battery should last between 300,000 and 500,000 miles so if I can get anywhere near 300,000 for around $32,000 I'll be thrilled and when the battery does die I'll just get new one for around $20,000 and it will be almost like having a new Tesla since all model S's from 2013 to 2022 look very similar inside and out.

@xyzxyz640610 ай бұрын
@@jangbaar5246 Sure. I sold my 2014 in Jan 2023 and upgraded to a 2018 100D for the longer range with enhanced auto pilot. I lucked out a little I think because 5 months after I sold it the person I sold it to told me it needed a new battery after a little over 100,000 miles. Said he wanted me to pay for half of the $14,000 bill but I sold it with no warrantee so it was his bill to pay. Just sold my 100d last week and upgraded to a black 2018 P100D with full self driving and the MCU2. My 100d had the MCU1. I got a steal on my P100D. The retail new price in 2018 was $135,000 plus $15,000 for FSD beta and $4,500 for 21 inch rims but I only paid $42,520 and it's only got 55,900 miles on it. I sold my 100D for $35,000 so I only would up paying about $8,000 for the P100D but it would have cost me $10K to upgrade to FSD, $2,400 to get the MCU2, $6,000 for the performance upgrade and $10k to add ludicrous so I got nearly $30,000 in upgrades for around $8,000.

Love your videos and your personality, Rich. Subscribing right NOW. I have to tell you, though, I bought my used Model 3 from Tesla used inventory in mid March, 2022 and I was nervous about not being able to see actual photos. It was still a lot of money, but equipped SWEET with everything I wanted. AWD, long range, accel boost and full FSD. I have to tell you man, the vehicle, with over 50k miles on it, exceeded my expectations in every possible way. ZERO cosmetic issues. Paint looked beautiful. No dings, scratches. Nothing. New tires, no wheel rash, and the white interior was perfect. One thing you didn't mention is that when you buy used from Tesla, they tack on an extra full year of the basic warranty, even if the vehicle is past the 50k mi threshold. I put this to use when I found a strange defect in one of the rear inner door panels which was only visible when the door was open. I also had them replace the check strap on the driver's door, because mine was getting noisy. They replaced the entire door panel and check strap free of charge. Three months later, and this car is still perfect and Tesla service has been good. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!

@RedHairedRiot2 жыл бұрын
So I called Tesla yesterday and asked the same question about the supercharging and they said with certain vehicles it just comes with the car -- like if you plugged it in, the supercharge will just accept "Oh this is a model with free supercharge attached". For other models, as long as it hasnt gone through a Tesla dealer -- i.e. if you bought it from a person OR from auction where it was in another person's name, it would also still have free supercharge attached.

Don't forget that if you scroll through the photos of the cars on the Tesla site, most listings will have actual images of the car for sale after you get through the rendered images. Hi there I like watching your channel in spite of not owning a Tesla yet. By the end of this year I’ll have my Model X (hopefully). I was hoping to also help your channel with some advice. I’m a retired documentary maker, media teacher and photographer in Australia. May I strongly suggest two things to greatly improve the watch ability and flow of your channel. Firstly, please invest in a camera that has proper microphone inputs. Good cameras usually have two inputs. May I suggest you mic yourself up on channel 1 and have a hand held boom mic on channel 2. Use the boom mic in a low position to pick up the audio of those you talk to. Audio is critical for audience engagement, even more than image. Speaking of which, either switch off your cameras auto focus, as too many of your shots are out of focus. Or, make sure you know where in your frame your camera uses as the focal point. Many cameras have adjustments in this area and you may need to do some work on finding out how to get the focus to work harder and faster for you. You may need to change or instruct your ‘talent’ how to hold things to get the focus. Or you could always use cut always to show what you are talking about. Thanks for listening and I hope you are aided by what I suggest. Regards Stephen.

@ecospider54 жыл бұрын
That depends on the extension cable. But yes especially because tesla allows you to adjust the amperage you are pulling. So check the rating of the extension cable then set it to a little below that in the car and you will be good to go. On the other hand if you want to see your extension cable burst into flames set the amperage to twice its rating and wait an hour or two. The insulation will melt away. The cable will short circuit and you will be able to roast marshmallows with a lovely plastic smell.

Wow thanks for this video it really helped because I’m stuck in picking three different types of Tesla just because the range is different I want to get the Tesla three white on white One is the standard plus range and he said that he had issues with the trunk got that fixed he said he had issues with the window not being aligned and he got that fixed. I’m definitely wanting to get a used Tesla over a new one even though the prices is very little of a difference . But I heard new brand-new Teslas have issues also so getting something that it’s been used they already fixed and replaced a couple of the problems.

Rich , if my Tesla breaks I will bring it to your garage to have it fixed. You guys seem very knowledgeable and honest and I think your garage might be the best choice in southern New England for Teslas out of warranty.

Dude, you are a brave soul to chance a Tesla out of warranty. While I hate Tesla and Elon for their anti-consumer approach to business, I wish you only the best of luck with the vehicle.

I live in Canada so I have a winter climate question? How does the Tesla do with rust due to salt in cold weather climates? I know the body panels are aluminum but what about the undercarriage? They've been building these for long enough now that rust issue should be starting to show up especially in Snowbelt areas.

Model 3's are steel...you won't see the rocker rail rust like that on a MS or MX.

Rich knows 50% everything about any model Tesla, as that's about how far he's gotten on his last 3 Tesla rebuild projects before getting distracted by the latest Power Wheels release.

You can see what the 100% charge range will be by going on the Tesla mobile app and on the charging screen where you set the charge limit, if you drag all the way to the right it'll show a preview of the 100% range.
