The old stage had a familiarity about it that I think supplied to the show. When they changed stages, you can also feel the overall theme of the show changed from mainly artistic to about half and half commercial and dance. Nowadays I only tape it to watch the next day, to be less interrupted by commercials, and to have the ability to skip in between dances. Poor Cat is spending more time after each dance advertising numbers and websites then she is talking to the judges and dancers.. -.-

You are soooo right. Those seasons are the only ones worth watching. After Season 4 the show went down hill and I think it's just about reached the bottom. The contestants the last few seasons just don't have the stage presence of Benji, Danny, Mark, Lacey, Allison, Heidi,etc. God, I miss that old stage and the days when Wade and Dan and Brian were choreographers and when I actually cared about the contestants.

Seasons 2, 3 and 4 are easily the 3 best overall seasons of SYTYCD. s2: Benji, Travis, Heidi, Allison, Ivan, Dmitry - s3: Neil, Sabra, Lacey, Lauren, Dominic - s4: Twitch, Chelsie, Comfort, Mark, Kherington, Joshua and Katee... I can name more from memory from those seasons alone then I can from s10, which is still going on TV here :p

This is a fun dance piece and clearly the two dancers here are talented and have put in the work to learn this fairly difficult routine in the time they had. I would never question their effort or drive but in all honesty, and no hatred meant at all, please believe me, someone in the hip-hop community would not recognize this as a hip-hop dance. I think that because breaking evolved alongside the other 3 elements of the culture(MCing, DJing, and graffiti) that it has more of a connection.

Exuse me, but when did the "entertaining" factor ever become a proble. Last time i checked it is why artists are even recognized. And it has never hurt dance or culture, just widened it to a larger number of styles. The routine has a theme, good dancers, and a decent soundtrack. Just because you find it to soft to be hip hop doesnt mean its bad, or misleading. Hip hop is so big today it stretches over many dance-and music styles. One can never really put down a line of what is what.
