I saw a video of a Russian soldier back home to Russia, last year... wheelchair, amputated. The shadow of a man, shouting to everyone. Do you think Putin will take care of him? Obviously not. That man, like other veterans, will be a forgotten memory of the so called "Special Military Operation". All those brainwashed "patriots", if they are lucky to survive, they will come back home like ghosts. Also imagine the Russian society, where the economy is falling into pieces...money are running out, because Putin made a huge miscalculation about EU and energy delivery. I have a Russian friend and it's like talking with a stone wall from the USSR era, if we stumble across politics and Ukraine topics from time to time. She saw the video of the story of the Russian single father arrested because her daughter made a drawing at school against the war, and then she said that daughter needs a psych evaluation... you see how deep the propaganda shit 24/7 for years comes into people's mind? Sad..really sad.

That's one of the reasons why Article 7 of the Geneva Conventions states : _“[Prisoners of War] may, _*_under no circumstances_*_ renounce in part or in entirety the rights secured to them by the present Convention.”_ ... he can't even choose, voluntarily, to be paraded or speak publicly as a PoW - because capture is, by its nature, coercive. I am amazed that a young Lithuanian is so oblivious ro recent history. When I was in Lithuania, the last Kremlin troops were leaving. Nobody stood at the roadside to wave them goodbye! Instead, people told me (in German) - in fact people more or less lined up to tell me, compulsively -how they had spent a lifetime being denigrated, casually and deliberately, for being Lithuanian. Every adult told me that at some point had been told by some Russian colonist (the people put in as administrators) not to speak “animal language” (Lithuanian) in their presence. They had to address town-hall bureaucrats and so on in Russian. Many of those Russians lived and worked in Lithuania for decades as bureaucrats and refused to learn the language. I was shocked to learn that most adults had been made to attend Russian-language kindergarten.

There's a long tradition of mobilising prisoners... even slaves, in return for _"national service"_ It's considerably less of an ethical problem than, say, forced conscription.

I really hope when he surrendered to the Ukrainian military that he told them he was HIV POSITIVE before they treated his wounds. It would be horrible if the Ukrainian’s that helped him ended up testing positive after helping him just cause he surrendered. Someone HIV positive should not be fighting in the military, it’s a possible death sentence for anyone that might come into contact with bodily fluids without being aware. I’ve heard people who are sick in the Wagner military have armbands indicating what they’re sick with, I hope that’s still the case. The Ukrainian military is just doing the right things by helping these Russian soldiers and I’d hate for anything bad to happen to them.

I usually dont let myself feel sorry for Russians, but this guy has had it pretty rough. why did he get 8 years prison? You don't see prisoners talk for so long like that without someone prompting them along with questions.

I'm wondering if the last sentence was a mis-translation. It was given as "No-one has run away from here yet..." I think he meant "No-one has left here yet - and I don't think anyone will." As in, nobody has done their six months and been allowed to leave!

His fingers are black, he will probably lose them. He's got black veins on his shoulder, probably sepsis from rotting tissues in his body due to improper blood flow. He's lived a sh!t life in a hard country. When your boss is telling you he needs you to work over time, remember, it could always be worse.

I doubt that the recruits from the prisons have freedom to do anything like steal anything.. that would be reserved for the regular army or the Wagner's upper echelons. These guys I'm sure are treated like slaves by the permanent soldiers.

😪🇪🇦 I do not consider the prisoners mobilized by the ex-convict Nazi Prigohzin as part of the genocidal NAZIS of the Wagner group, taking into account that many find out that there is an invasion by the invading Russian fascist Nazism at the moment they are recruited in their prisons, for me they are victims of the genocide that the invading RUSSIAN terrorists commit and have extended them against their own people to deliberately throw them into the battlefield as cannon fodder. I hope that his message and the appearance in which he has been left make the Russians understand that, if there is someone they must defend themselves against, it is the organized crime terrorists who lead the expansionist Nazism of the Kremlin.
