This is the 4th video about my new project car, the Seat Leon Cupra 2019 model. This time I went a bit further and swapped the CUPRA Ateca airbag unit. Looks awesome!
This method should be valid for any Seat Leon 5F and perhaps other models too...

Do you know which voltage each wires are providing? I’m looking to locate a 12V wire or two wires that combined provides 12v on the wire loom connecting from the airbag and buttons

Hi Choman! Apologies for the late reply. I believe the safest way would be to check with a workshop manual, like ELSAWIN or ETKA. The shortcut for me would be to remove the airbag, disconnect the connector that goes to the airbag module itself (for safety) and then measure voltages from there. The standard from the ECU should be 12V if I remember well. Be careful with what you are trying to connect and the expected voltage drop that might occur. Apologies for not being able to help you further.

How did you release those tabs exactly???

Hi! Stiff screwdriver with a flat tip (I prefer the ones that are meant to be for electronics). Your best friend here, a mirror that allows you to see the tabs. So, insert the screwdriver and feel the tab, pry and part of the airbag unit should come out. The other half should be a bit more hesitant due to the added tension, but nothing to worry. I realize now that I did not fill the process and I should do this more often. Noted! let me know if I can help you further =)

Hi Kristian! Yes, as seen in the video! Some older models don't require to change the harness, so it is a plug&play job.
