Appreciate your passion, attention to detail and infectious enthusiasm for cooking! Your channel gives me Sam the Cooking Guy, Ballistic Burgers, and Cooking & Grillin with AB vibes. All channels I've been watching for years and use for ideas all the time in my home cooking. I don't see nearly enough Foodtubers recommending other people's cookbooks and talking about their sources and inspirations. If we're being honest, very few home cooks and/or professional chefs are coming up with truly original ideas or reinventing the wheel when we cook. There's nothing wrong with cooking others' recipes or making our own interpretations of them and I wish a lot more people would do that and be open about who they're drawing inspiration from. That's just being classy and respectful IMO. This is my first time ever hearing of a Molly burger and seeing a patty pressed into brown sugar (!? 🤯) and it looks AWESOME. Caramelized brown sugar and caramelized smashed beef makes me weak in the knees! New sub!

Although I go back and forth, I lean towards mayo for toasting up buns, but I'll hit it with a little onion or garlic powder before toasting. Cheers and enjoy your weekend!

I'm definitely a buttered bread person over a mayoed bread person. I love mayo and I don't hate bread grilled with mayo (in fact I think the super even, crispy texture of mayo grilled bread is superior) but the flavor of toasted bread infused with butter is unbeatable. Maybe a thoroughly whipped up compound butter mixed with mayo could be the best of both worlds? 🤔

Molly smashburgers are a definite must make! You know I've made them and they are the bomb!!! I use mayo when I know the burgers are gonna be sloppy! I don't use butter, I like to use olive oil on the griddle! Delicious smashburgers, Tommy!!!😋😋😋

Another great video Tommy! Burgers, onion burgers are awesome and I love the way you did it 2 different ways 🙂 I told my service manage about your French Toast Dogs video and said we need to make it. As I was describing how you did it he was like heck ya! But it didn't stop there. I sent him the link to your video and told him, just watch the first 30 seconds of the opening and you WILL WANT THIS! As I watched, he opened your video and watched it with another guy at work that does a lot of smoking and they were both in awe of the opening of that video. You're the man Tommy and as I've said you got some good s**t here on this cannel buddy. I like butter OR mayonnaise on my rolls...probably more towards the butter side but mayonnaise works just as good 🙂I have not had the Molly smash before, I've just done the onion burger once on my channel but I am DEFINITELY going to have to try the Molly smash with the brown sugar on the meat...why not I say...a different flavor is ALWAYS better to try 👍 I will for sure be trying the "Molly" version of this burger! Tommy, in my opinion, you have brought us videos to this channel as you have promised. Every video is a "do" video for us cooking, smoking, griddling KZbinrs 😉

Tommy I'm curious to know if you've read the book Salt Fat Acid Heat by Samin Nosrat? It's one of the best cookbooks I've ever read. Full of wisdom, great recipes and great illustrations too by a high level fine dining chef who doesn't put "fancy food" on a pedestal and focuses on real food for real people. It made me rethink my entire approach to cooking, and reaffirmed my belief that acid is an essential ingredient to a perfect burger, whether it comes in the form of citrus juice, vinegar, or pickles. I think an Oklahoma style smashburger with grilled onions like this one is pretty much the platonic ideal of a hamburger, but I definitely prefer the addition of pickles, mustard, or at least a few shakes of a nice flavorful vinegar like malt vinegar on the patty before adding the cheese. That little detail is what elevates a great burger onto Mount Olympus for me! ⛰
