This video is great and is very insightful!! you were spot on with repair cost. I remember my passenger rear window going out on this car a few years ago. I had to replace regulator, motor, and also reprogram auto seal function for $960. Yes one rear window. The maintenance on this car is short of nothing nice!! I had about $16k plus repair bills already for about for years of ownership. These are beautiful cars but having this vehicle out of warranty is no joke. I am convinced that this is a lease only vehicle unless you have deep pockets. There's no wonder why I don't see any of these things on the street!! They are definitely a rare spot. I own a cl55. Its s great car, however the costs are high. Equally, I did by one with the view of restoring it. The general maintenance is high. I spent £70 driving mine on the motorway for a few hrs. Lastly though, if you are worried about cost etc this isnt the car for you. Great car, cost money but you effectively own a beast. Overall it's the bullocks.

Whats up 3d? Man i got the same window issue. I had my Mercedes shop look at it. My problem is the master( drivers) window control. Not sure if you know but all cars as far as i know run off the master control. I was quoted $600 for the repair. I'm thinking of buying a used one online (around $200) and going at it myself. Sucks to not be able to go pillar-less. On another note, that noise i told you about awhile ago ended up being a pulsation damper on the ABC pump. Its quiet most days so i still haven't fixed it yet. And Lastly, IF YOUR THINKING OF GETTING A CL listen to what 3d has warned you about. its real!Most times i don't want anyone near it so it isn't scratched. other times I find myself wishing someone would run into me and total the damn thing.

Forgot 1 thing. Im not sure but i think i fucked my window switch. Unfortunately im a smoker and the cl is the worst car to drive in the rain with a cracked open window. Wets up the door like you wouldn't believe. well that switch caught a lot of rain water so that may have caused my issue.

True. It is a lot to repair a MB, but for me it's well worth it when you own a car that's somewhat rare. I'll be golden if I can find a good mechanic, and not have to take my car to the dealership for any/and everything that goes wrong.

You might need a brand new starter battery which is under the hood. It costs about $200, so check those terminals.

My 2001 c320 gave me an education in Mercedes Benz. So many things went on mine but it started everyday. I had continous battery drain issues. But when it worked it worked well. I could drive across the country. It was quieter than a newer car and did not vibrate. The plastics were suspect with guey knobs in the summer. It was as reliabe as any other brand but with a much better driving experience.

A fairly common failt with MB is the gear position sensor who thinks that you are still in gear and would thus not start. Not a very expensive fix.

i used to drive the 2017 S350, yes the car had problems here and there, but i was driving it as UBER Black, cab... for 12 hrs a day, sometimes 15 hrs... i started thinking that Europeans and US versions might be made differently... the same car has around 850000 Km on odometer today. still running strong... now i just got a 2007 CL 500, which looks like yours, i like the vibe, let's see how it goes. @@3DThaRapstar

Replace the battery and keep the Transponding on the Sunroof when your first start it after replacing the battery.. The window problem is the Switch Panel Control.. Replace the Entire Switch Panel on the Drivers Door.. I work in a Bodyshop and all 4 Door Vehicles with 4 windows have the same problem..

Oh man, this is the truth. Had my CL550 now 3 years. Love the car. If it's not raining, pilarless every time. That being said...engine mounts, rear window shade, seat auto cornering support, rear tires go quick, and yes the rear driver side window. Luckily it goes always down but takes 3 pushes (always no less and no more) to go back up. Popped the corners on the front bumper once on a parking stop. ( It lowers itself when off) Besides routine maintenance $$$$ something goes wrong every year more $$$. But besides my Supra when I was in my early 20s, this is the most fun car I've ever owned. Fun vid.

Get the 5.5 naturally aspirated Engine as opposed to the 4.7 BiTurbo which will save you a lot of money. And as long as you are prepared to purchase it and set aside $2-3,000 for any major repairs and then keep up with maintenance, the car is a great car to have. These cars gave depreciated massively as well so is not like you are spending too much money even if you put the $2-3k in repairs at the start Most people’s views on these type of cars are skewed: you are buying what used to be $90,000 car with all sorts of luxury attached to it, of course they are gonna cost more to maintain and own. You pay to play. Everything is more expensive on this car and as long as you go in with that mindset, you won’t be disappointed when a repair bill does eventually show up seeing how now these cars are 10-17 years old at the time of writing this. Thats only expected

You are correct but my S coupe has been far more relaible and it has the 4.7L, this car had the 5.5 which was relaible but I spent a ton of money on, but yes you are correct, this car has been good to me over the time, I only titled it that bcuz I made a video saying here is why you should buy one and it only got 1000 views lol I guess people like what’s bad

These are fantastic cars whichever engine you get albeit the 5.5 is less of a headache engine wise but the S Class coupe has improved auxiliaries around it that are less prone to breaking in my opinion

Does it make a humming noise when you drive? If so that's your hydraulic pulsation damper. The part costs about $200 with labor cost to remove and replace and purge fluids. It can range about $600-$800 depending upon where you take your car.
