I was there too. Scored some Indian opium, Superman tabs, shrooms, and a few grams of pink champagne speed off a chick who was selling off a selection tray draped around her neck. Spent 2 days endlessly walking up and down the drags speeding off my skull in a frenzy trying to find barbs or Valium to bring me down

The day before the Solstice I picked my girlfriend up from Gatwick. We were both 21 and she was a Californian. We went straight to Stonehenge and managed to find friends and made camp. W dropped around midnight and as Hawkwind played made our way inside the circle as the sun broke over the Healsone on a crystal clear dawn. Just gobsmacking. Being from San Francisco, she had never seen anything older than 150 years old and was now inside the Stonehenge at solstice sunrise ..on acid. Not a bad first day.

I remember actually being in the crowd watching this. I was 18 at the time. If I remember correctly 84 was the last proper free festival at Stonehenge. We had to make do with Glastonbury after that 😵🤯🤬😢

What a day... What a great band.. Pleasure to have seen them and met em.. 1985 stonehenge was over for us all. Maggie sent the troops. On milicom we got busted by the spg just outta stony Cross. I always look back and smile at those days.. Yeah man, twos up and someone gimme a blim. All the best to the band, the convoy ppl and everyone else.. Now grown up but still free.. 🙏😁😁❤️

It's Solstice today, this brings back some happy memories; Here and Now were always my favourite festival band and the Henge is my favourite place (I'm only an hour away but haven't been for a while.) Miss those daze_ cheers for this.✌

As this is during the day, it must have been before my mate and I bought four slices of cake and woke up flat on our backs in the middle of an open area in front of the stage, long after the bands had finished for the night, in the drizzle. Those were the daze...

Thank you so much for filming and uploading this. Without a visual record of this fantastic event, it would be hard to convince anyone too young to have been there that it ever happened at all and that once upon a time, people didn't pay £200+ to get into a festival and that admission was in fact, FREE! I was at the Stonehenge festivals 1981-84 and they truly shaped the direction of the rest of my life.

I remember going there and being amazed by the whole vibe of the tribe that sadly did not last long after it was gong just have memories of everyone doing different drugs without which the whole thing would have been boring lol Being only nineteen it was a total shock going from punk to convoys of very strange people called eggy zero warlock mad stevia and the HAMC

Thank you for uploading this! I was not born yet, or even in the same country during all of this. Through the uploading of this original footage you allow others who feel the same passion for this music to 'experience' these concerts as the next best thing to being there in person in 1983. I've always mostly felt much more connected to the culture and music of the past... better times man. The amazing English Psych bands of the 70's/80's, FREE festivals at Stonehenge, what a magic time, a time I can't fathom in this modern day corporate driven world.

1984 was the yeaR FOR stine het about ya record deal and they played anyway some decent bands plays in 83 more so then 84 but they had it and some proper space rock off hawkwind hrongs really after 2 great yrs and i know for a fact a lot of bands got told if ya play stonehe4nge forget ya record deal and doing the thing with ya music and dont expecvt a record deal after playing stonehenge i know that for a fact cause roger used to know dave brock and hawkwind were one of biggest bands and they had misty in roots 1983 and they didnt get signed again and nither did hawkwind and a few punk up and coming nu romatic punk bands and they were told ya p[ay stonehe4nge forget about ya record deal but they played stone henge any waY
